| I add silk amino acids (for protein) and honeyquat (powerful humectant) to my shampoo...so I would say yes, as long as it doesn't cause your shampoo to breakdown or something like that. |

I don't make my own shampoo.
I just noticed from reading the manufacturer's specs on these ingredients that the recommended amount is a certain percentage of the overall formula. So for example, if a recommended percentage is 5%, I just add several drops of the liquid into my shampoo bottle and shake to blend.
I am not very scientific about it. So far, these ingredients have not caused any of my shampoos or conditioners to break down.
