Hi everyone,
This is my review for Spectro HydraCare moisturizer for Normal/Combination Skin
I was on a mission to find a less expensive moisturizer for my skin so I decided to give the new line of SpectroGel moisturizers a try. I picked up the Normal/Combination Skin formula in hopes that it would replace my current oil-free moisturizer at a lower cost.
Review:
Texture: A little on the creamy side, felt slightly greasy as well(on my skin). It states that it is non-irritating, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, and fragrance free. I don't believe it is oil-free though.
Ingredients: Water, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oleosomes, Polyglycerin-10, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Salicylic Acid, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzethonium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide.
Packaging: Plastic bottle with pump: 140ml, comes in a box.
Variety: There are 3 different formulas: blemish prone skin, normal to combination and dry skin. This review is on the normal/combo product.
Cost: Very affordable, I purchased my bottle for $12.00
Summary of my experience: The first week of use it seemed to work well, then I started noticing that I was waking up with small whiteheads all over my face. I discontinued use and they stopped appearing. Also made my face look greasy a few hours after applying.
Conclusion: I would only recommend this product to anyone that has had success with the SpectroGel line of products. I will not purchase this product again.
Cheers!

Viola, welcome to the forum and I have to say that is one of the best reviews I have seen. I love the way you laid it out and, if you don't mind, I might do mine in a similar way in future. |

You mentioned most of what I observed.
I just want to add my 2 cents on my experience with Spectro line:
- I used the cleanser that's supposed to be used before your moisturizing product. It was really slimy and seemed to be able to make your skin supple in preparation for moisturizing, but I found that it didn't do a very good job.
- I have eczema, so the cleanser didn't cater to my skin very well. It's not "intensively gentle" enough for my skin: it was gentle, but it didn't feel like I had a good clean.
- Because I used the gel, I wasn't sure how much to use. There wasn't very much direction as to how much you need for cleansing your face as well.
Recommend? No. |
