I always use a cotton pad with toner, which contains alcohol, to reduce the pore on my nose. |

Use a pimple scraper will surely help but don't use your hands. Also, make sure that you clean your face very well with a gentle liquid cleanser and follow by a moisturizer. A toner will help minimize the pores.... Also use a mud pack on the face every now and then. I hope this helps

My sister and I have the same problem.
She deals with it by using a pimple scraper
and toner but I'm scared of scarring.
I was recommended Cor Silver Soap and so far I've noticed a nice improvement in my blackheads and pores around my oily nose area ( I have combo skin too) Give it a try, the sample soap is about $12 available here and it lasts a very long time. I've had mine for over three weeks and there's still a lot left. |

Biore strips. I saw someone posted about them enlarging pores, and I don't know about that, but they sure do clean them out!! |

Hello all,
the oil cleansing method works in a few ways, OIL CLEANS OIL the act of massaging helps the skin purge the toxins and excess sebum that the oil dislodges and the heat opens the pores to help let it all come out and rinse away. There is quite a bit of info on the OCM thread. I have been at it for years love it!!!
My skin is decongested, blackheads gone, pores have shrunk, and at 55 my skin glows. I never have had problems with breakouts and when I first tried this method I was surprised what came out of my skin!

I am reposting CareKate's asprin mask which was on Mua: great to shrink pores also if you check DIY RECIPE INDEX ACV TONER would help as well.
Recipe for homemade TendSkin (note: this recipe was originally posted by a member on MUA, although it has since disappeared...I don't know who the original author is, but it wasn't me!):
What you need:
Uncoated aspirin
70% alcohol
Witch Hazel
A measuring cup/bottle
2 bottles used to shake mixtures
1 8oz or more bottle/container to keep finished product
What you do:
1. Pour 5.5oz of 70% alcohol into one bottle.
2. Drop 18 uncoated aspirins into the alcohol. Cap bottle and shake.
3. Pour 2.5oz of witch hazel into the second bottle.
4. Drop 8 uncoated aspirins into the witch hazel. Cap bottle and shake.
5. Wait awhile (30 minutes to a whole day) for the aspirins to dissolve in the liquids. Shake periodically to help dissolve aspirin and mix. NOTE: not all of the aspirin will dissolve. That’s ok- some of it never will.
6. Now combine both the alcohol and witch hazel mixtures together into one bottle. Make sure you shake it up before you pour them out so you also get the aspirin residue into the new bottle.
This last bottle is your Tendskin! Use 1-2 a day. Reduce usage if you experience dryness or flaking or irritation. DO NOT USE IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO ASPIRIN. Make sure you shake it well before each use. |

If your only issue is nose area only use it there, Also I agree final rinse with anything should be cold water to close the pores.

I am using Vichy NormaDerm Anti-imperfection as a day cream. It is helping me to keep the oil under control. I still get some blackhead but not as big. I don't think they go away by themselves. They have to be extracted. I go to my facialist every month for the extract.
I am waiting for the KH product that I ordered. It is supposed to 'move' the blackhead to the surface for easier extract. |

I use the Cellex-C Speed Peel Facial Gel
sometimes to get rid of the blackhead. It does sting a little. Or...
Pevonia Enzymo-Spheride Peeling Cream does almost the same work with a less stripping feel. |

Cacipony,
Please don't squeeze your skin! You can cause permanent damage, I know it is hard to break a habit but you will thank your self later in life if you stop now!
If you don't want to go the OCM route there are many ways listed here and DIY recipes or gadgets reccomended that work for people!
Try to find a less harmful way, you only get one skin and prevention is much easier than cure.

I also use Seikisho Whitening mask for my blackheads. I used to use a blackhead extractor tool but it's not a long-term soluation since it will damage the veins under your skin. |

I just tried a sample of Mario Badescu whitening mask and was not expecting too muchwith one use.
But my pores actually looked smaller and much clearer than before!
The mask uses kojic acid, licorice root and some kind of berry and clay.
I used the mask 2x a week for 3 weeks and no dryness or burning.
I usually use a claymask on my nosefor blackheads and the clay absorbs the oil.
The nose strips never worked well for me.
trying to get blackheads out with thingsfor me just aggravetes my skin and I bruise very easily, and scar easily too...soI end up looking worse! |

I massage my skin with jojoba oil every day (it´s also good for those falky bits from using acids or retin a) and follow it with my daily scrub. I also apply a clay mask from lâncome 2 days a week. Hope this helps.

I have had horrible blackheads on my nose for most of my entire adult life. It's extremely oily but strangely, the skin would often be dehydrated and it seemed like there was always a layer of dead thick skin on it. I would regularly do extractions but there were some that were 'permanent' and the ones that were eliminated were very difficult to remove and they always came back within a week. The situation was further compounded by the fact that I was in a car accident during college and one side of nose is essentially 100% scar tissue so the pores that didn't scar over are ENORMOUS.
I had always assumed that blackheads were going to be a permanent part of my life but I recently started obagi and wow, the results are amazing. I wasn't intending or expecting it to resolve my blackheads but with all of that exfoliation from the tretinoin and the glycolic acid, it has virtually eliminated the blackheads. Any blackheads that do remain are very easy to extract and I noticed that the extracted material is lighter in color. |
