Just wondering if anyone has tried any of these relatively new organic shampoos and what you thought of them.

Hi Jom, I use (alternating) the Passion Shampoo and like it a lot. It's brown in color, like golden molasses, with a natural unrefined texture and smells divine with a sort of earthy sweet spicy smell. It is on the moisturizing side but not so much that it weighs down my fine hair. I can have a sensitive/reactive scalp and find it doesn't irritate it like so many other natural shampoos have in the past.
One thing with the CTONICS shampoos is that they are very hard to spread with a first shampoo, more so than other natural shampoos I've tried. Brushing my hair before showering and also making sure my hair is really wet before shampooing does help a bit but doesn't compare with a second washing. On a repeat shampoo, it spreads far more easily and even lathers a bit. My hair literally soaks it up. I could probably get away with just the shampoo but I still follow up with either the Elixir Milk or the Elixir Blossom. The end result for me is hair that has lots of body and bounce.
ETA: For once I didn't have any hair products in my hair and found the shampoo spread more easily and lathered as if I had already washed it once. |

Thanks Havana, this online store http://www.spiritbeautylounge.com/ is having a special - if you buy any CTONICS product you get a full size CTONICS Core shampoo so I ordered the Passion and got a free bottle of Core. I have used each one once and they give a very good first impression. I usually only like shampoo that lathers a lot but these are great. As you said, they don't lather much, I found the Core lathers more than the Passion and they lather more on a second shampoo than the first. But, the results are great. I left Passion on for about ten minutes for a deep conditioning as the CTONICS website says you can do and it really made my hair shiny and soft and gave it a little volume. The Core shampoo is more deep cleansing and it gave my hair volume and shine as well. I sent a question in to the CTONICS website to see if Core is OK for color treated hair and she said it is, but Passion will make the color last longer, and it is best to alternate the two. They both smell great. I'm actually suprised that I like these products as much as I do, but I give them a big thumbs up! |

That is a great website! I just checked it out after reading this and they offer sampler packs for hair, body and skin. They also give the option by skin and hair types, which is pretty cool. I am all about samples. The kits were $15 each and if you sign up for the newsletter you get a free $5 coupon. |
