Haha, I've been telling a friend of mine about dermarolling and she finally googled it the other day and she said she oddly got a lot of picture searches about angelina jolie, I was like..what?! Now I see. |

You know, I was just thinking of something....
This could be like an Oprah kind of situation where people figure that if Angelina Jolie is doing it - it must be a good thing.
What if it really catches on and rollers get harder to find or more expensive - or people will be careless and end up with infections.
Hope this isn't a bad thing for rolling.

I noticed in the comments, the person from Environ said that Jolie had the surgical roll done. So, I am curious if she really uses a home roller or not. |

Haha Im thinking if she uses it herself, she probably doesnt have to use numbing gel for the long needles. lol seeing as she has many tattoos.
Why does the person from environ say their needles do not have to be replaced? Dont they get blunt or something? |

I heard she was depressed about getting older and the new megan fox who is getting a lot of roles she would have gotten if she was younger.I am sure she is pulling out all the stops and doing it all!She is one celebrity that I think is the prettiest of all.And an example of good plastic surgery...she was not that attractive as a teen till she got a chin and cheek implant and had a very successful nose job.I wonder if dr Nassif in BH did her nose,he is supposed to be the best. |

I assume with most celebrities, especially those of her status, that almost everything is done for them. It would not surprise me at all to learn that an esthetician travelled to meet her at her own location.

...or heck, even a nurse or doctor - almost anything can be bought with the right amount of money.
Her search for rejuvenation methods may have led her to look for something with minimal downtime.
I imagine many people who are not as addicted (as I am) to learning about skincare and especially wealthy people - would simply ask their specialist for a list of options and then choose one to go with. Kudos to her specialist for presenting dermarolling as one of them - versus the big laser guns

A couple interesting things to note about the newer articles -
I may be mistaken, but I believe some of the patient photos are of Dr. Des himself, lol
The later articles only mention needle lengths of 1mm and 3mm.
The frequency of rolling is mentioned too, as ranging from weekly to monthly, without more specifics.

Environ is a really good brand, developed by a plastic surgeon from South Africa. It is pricey though, but its mixtures etc are really good. On the dermarolling side of it, they have been doing it since the 90's I believe. |

Environ was created by Dr. Des Fernandes, who is one of the first to use the dermaroller. |

Exactly! Most people follow Dr. Fernandes' advice on the frequency of the rolling, as well as that products to use before/after a roll! |

I just read something interesting - that many celebrities use Environ products and have the skin to show for that - but since Environ does not pay celebrity endorsements, the word doesn't get out.
So - wow - does that mean that lines like Olay and L'Oreal pay endorsements? I guess so if you consider advertisement featuring celebs.
Another thing that struck me - since lines like Environ and 302 are only available through skin professionals, that may be a way of ensuring product freshness (as opposed to shelved products) and we all know how fragile antioxidants are - the Environ products even carry expiration guidelines - never saw that on an Olay or Aveeno bottle
I swear I am not associated with Environ or 302 or anything - if anything I am just now enlightened after years of following the standard antiox/AHAs/Retin A route.
I am suddenly thinking of a career switch - offering vitamin facials based on all I've learned - that would be better than going to the office.

This is interesting news! Integrity!
I don't think the celebrities even use the products they promote anyway, do you? haha. the mascara ads...it says mascara, but you see eyelash extensions! lol.
Are you really considering a career switch? Now might be a good time for it!
There are some things that say you can only get them through a professional though, and I doubt its because of freshness. Like Redken EQ hair dye, or some other hair products. I think they just want to make it seem special.
But this stuff you are referring to, perhaps it does need to be fresh. Food needs to be fresh, so maybe this does too! m...
And this needle thing, I see why they say only professional with that. Even here, with guidance and experience, some do not read it, they do it and then ask questions, I was cringing!
Do you want to sign on with this company or start your own! How fun! And helping people too, a perfect combo! |

I don't think it is about freshness. I know that most of the Environ products need to be used in like 4-6 weeks after opening. I think it has more to do with Fernandes and Huber wanting a person to see a professional for their skin care problems to get the most out of their lines and not use products that aren't right for your skin, etc., etc. |
