Does anyone has a successful strategy to deal with the frowns that are constant and unintentional. When I remember try to relax my muscles, but it doesn't happen often during the day. This constant frowning is giving me lines. So I'm thinking what to do. I've been thinking about

1) using a cream with Argireline to help relex my muscles
2) botox? I don't have deep wrinkles. I only have some light lines. So i don't know.

Thanks!!

both those things would probably help, the retin A could help too.

thanks jom. Yes, i just started to use tretinoin. However, my frown between my eyes is a bad habit that it's really hard to get rid off. So i was thinking that maybe relaxing those muscles will help.

Hi there. BOTOX. This can prevent big wrinkles. And make you feel like you're not looking like a grouch all the time with the frowning. It is a bad habit and botox will help break it.

thanks sis! I wasn't sure about botox because I just started with some fine lines. But if botox will help me to break the habit, i'll do it...

Botox will knock out that frown and wrinkle,it will open up your face and if you are lucky it could last as long as 6 months...a real deal.Just tell the doc you only want 20 units in the 11's....dont have him do the whole forehead that way it will only cost 200.

Botox, to start, will help retrain those muscles. It worked wonders for me. I don't have to have it often nor do I frown or squint when my eyes are tired as much as I used to. Even when I don't have the injections or they have worn off it is 80% better.
My family teases that when they get in trouble I can't do the mad face, so they can't even tell! Laughing

Another vote for Botox here. It's good that you don't have the deep wrinkles there yet Very Happy Botox will retrain those muscles AND help you keep those deep wrinkles from forming. I actually know people that use tox as a preventative measure to keep them from forming the 11's and forehead lines. I haven't gotten to that point yet, but I may just decide to zap the 11 area to prevent them if I ever see it coming on.

It's definitely possible to "learn" not to frown. When I was a youngster, my slightly nutty mother (who I adored) would constantly chastise me not to frown, "You'll get wrinkles!" So much so that I am now still completely unable to scrunch up my forehead like the average person and create those horizontal lines. I can, if I try, do the squinting thing and create the 11's look...

Last time I saw my mom, she gave me quite a telling off about doing the squint/11's thing. Got to love her, in hospital after a stroke, and she's still worried about me getting wrinkles Laughing

Just saying, it's probably easier if you're a kid, but you can train those facial muscles to do or not do what you want. In my case, it's probably not a matter of the muscles atrophying but rather not developing in the first place. Thanks mom!!
