Hello! I am in need of a new hair dryer and wanted to know if anyone could offer a review of the FHI hair dryer...being in Canada it seems they are only offered on-line from the USA. As they seem to start at around $150 I wanted to hear from any owners of this dryer prior to purchasing...thoughts?
I tried the T3 featherweight, however it does not have a 'hi-med-lo' heat function; just heat or cold shot and the heat is very, very hot (too hot for my liking) Hence my search continues!
Am thinking about picking up a flat iron while I am at it...I admit I have never utilized one, however I like the curls/ringlet look that they can achieve (or at least that some adverts show) Admittedly so I don't need to straighten my hair, and wondered whether the flat iron curls hair any better than a curling iron. Currently I simply use hot rollers, which I really like, however they don't create a curly look on my shoulder lenght hair (rather it lots of body and soft curl on the ends)
Your thoughts would be appreaciated! Cheers |

I purchased an FHI dryer a few months ago based on a recommendation from Jom (thank you!!) in this thread Recs for a dryer but the Pro 1900 Turbo model. Jom mentioned she has the Pro 1800 model. I love it--it leaves my hair both soft and full of body which is often hard to achieve at the same time when your hair is fine but thick.
I also ended up getting an FHI Heat Ceramic 1-inch Curling Iron after my then current iron broke and can honestly say the FHI one is probably the best curling iron I've ever owned. It gets super hot, it doesn't dry my hair out, and makes flipping, curling and straightening a quick and easy task. I've even taken to doing the vertical curls (ringlets?) that I keep seeing on the celebrities with medium-to-longer-hair. I like that it heats up quickly, has variable temperature control and a cool touch tip.
I got the dryer at drugstore.com and the curling iron at Overstock. Even with the exchange at the time and shipping, it was still way cheaper for me to buy it from the states. It would have been even better had I been able to buy both at the same place but, at the time, I couldn't find anyone that carried both items. It looks as if Drugstore.com has all three items right now though.
Which FHI flat iron were you looking at? There is such a range in the pricing of their irons. |

Thank you for your comments! Based on that I ordered the 1900 model off of Amazon for a pretty good price, and shipping was only $14.
It sounds like you and I might have similar hair (fine and thick/lots of it). I am not sure which flat iron - didnt know FHI even made curling irons either. Haven't used a curling iron in a long time, however it might more suited to what I want to do (curl the ends under, make ringlets) I will keep your comments in mind re: FHI curling iron and do a bit of research on them.
Thanks again - I look forward to my hair dryer arriving in the mail! |

I guess you already bought it but I have the BaByliss PRO Nano Titanium 1 1/4" flatiron, it's so GREAT. They have it at Amazon.
So far I've had several and I'm really happy with this one. So easy to do your hair quickly. |
