Theresa,
Just curious ... did you have the one-on-one with Carole in person or recently via Skype? I believe if you are holding your mouth in the correct position, you should start to feel a burn in that area. Are you pulling your mouth corners in towards the back teeth and making a small mouth not like a smile?

I had a one to one with her in person (not via skype), and yes am pulling my mouth corners to the back teeth (loved her saying like an old woman gumming) but never get a burn. Said that to her during the session and she said it would come over time, but to do it for as long as needed. I've never got the burn on that one. I did get it on the face slimmer one with her, but never got that since (and use the tape she did forme for a while but it was no use).

Why is the burn so important? I honestly, don't do it until I get a burn. I just do the exercises and so far I see a difference in my face. |

I do think that perhaps your position is off or you aren't doing the exercises correctly or pushing hard enough or something. I always get a burn with the exception of the lip plumper and the nose transformer exercises. I have done them without getting the burn and when I change positions, concentrate more, put my body in the correct posture, I feel the burn. Sometimes as with the lip plumper, the burn can be felt as a thickening, tingling or a numbness. I don't feel any particular feeling with the nose transformer, but still get results. That being said, if you are getting results, perhaps you aren't feeling it, but it is happening. Everyones pain tolerance is different and perhaps some don't feel it as a burn or uncomfortable sensation . As long as you get results, that is all that matters! HTH, Aprile |

Hello all,
I am very happy to report my progress using the new facercise program. I am seeing great results. I have almost eliminated my nasal labial folds, my crows feet the two lines between my eyebrows and firmed my whole face nicely! I am not sure if it's exercises alone because I am now using her skincare products. I use retinol at nighttime and daytime I use egf serum and cream on top and then sunscreen too. I am very happy and just wanted to share my news!

You know this is the very point I was making though. Carole never corrected the position when I had my one to one with her and I'm still doing it the same way. I remember asking about the burn, and she said to do it till I got the burn, so it makes me think that maybe not everyone gets the burn.
As you say you always get them with your exercises but there are exceptions, maybe its just one of those things that not everyone gets it in the same place. I do often wonder though why Carole doesn't set up her own forum for answering questions as I think that would be a really good learning tool. She said in her newsletter a month or so ago she was coming out with a new book but I've not heard anything since, has anyone else heard any more?
elygirl thats wonderful. Do you feel the burn in all the exercises?

I did call her spa to ask about 2 months ago, and I was told that her book won't come out for another year. She explained to me the reason then, but to be honest, I don't remember exactly. |

I do them twice a day. I get the burn on most of the exercises with a few exceptions... don't get a burn persay on the lip plumper or the nose shortener. I do on all the others. The results for me anyway have been great! I love the way my face looks and feels after I am done with the exercises. The best beauty investment I've made for myself. I also love her skincare line. Products do seem to be helping my crow's feet area. HTH, Ely |

Hi everyone
I'm new to this forum it's nice to meet you all. I bought the facercise program a while ago and haven't looked at it since. I have the book and the dvd that has beginning facercise along with one to listen to in the car and one for lying down at home.
I'm only just starting the exercises today after a scary encounter with the bathroom mirror lol and I'm really struggling with the eye ones...what am I doing wrong? When I'm trying to raise my lower eyelid I feel that both my lids are 'squinting' as it's called...would this have a negative effect on the exercises or will I be able to do it properly with practice?
Thanks in advance

Hey Maggie
Ok having done facercise and a couple of others I think I can safely say there is always one or two exercises that people always can't get at the start (for me it was like half of the exercises LOL).
I don't think that squinting will have an effect on the lower lid exercise that would be bad, as its working the muscle and just imagine that over time it will grow stronger as time goes by.

Hello Theresa
Thanks...I just didn't know if it would be detrimental if both lids were squinting lol...you can tell I'm new at this

It would only be detrimental if the eyes overbuilt, but from what I know the eyes are relatively safe from overbuilding, its more the mouth or cheeks that overbuild.

Hi Maggie - When you are doing the exercise for the lower lid - think of looking into the sun and the way your lower eyelid will scrunch up. You may want to think of pulling your nose up too as you pull down on the lower lids. Also look upwards while you squint the lower lid as this will help prevent movement of the upper.
Hope some of these tips will help.

thanks Theresa & Sis
My eyes are where I need most help and the part of me that I want to address that I'm most conscious of, I have tried the eye exercises countless times and I'm not getting that 'pulse' Carole talks about on the dvd I just feel the sides of my eyes crinkling up even more
More practice today I think lol.
Thanks again

You know I think you'd be wise to email Carole directly for guidance also in your own particular case as she does respond to emails.
Whilst you might just feel the sides crinkling up, don't give up. Its like anything when you first try it, it seems impossible but over time it gets to become natural just like a,b,c etc.
Be careful about overdoing it early on too.... that won't help you. Just go slowly but surely and your be fine.

I think I'm doing ok with the other exercises, I have the dvd playing on my laptop and my webcam open at the same time lol so I can see if the faces I'm making are matching Carole's...silly but effective
The eye ones really are giving me trouble I feel that all the movement is coming from my cheeks and the corners of my eyes, I should email her thanks so much for suggesting that

What is the eye enhancer? |
The eye enhancer is a facial exercise of Carole Maggio's Facercise program, basically it consists of a strong eye squeeze using fingers to prevent the forming of lines, but it seems one should use the entire program to get nice even results ! |
I have Carole Maggio's Facercise DVD and the first exercise is the Eye Enhancer where towards the last 40 counts you would have to squeeze eyes very tight. My confusion here is do I shut my eyelids really tight or do I shut my eyelids really tight WHILE frowning (like having soap in my eyes)? Worried that if I frown at the same time, then it will make frown lines?
This is the link where you can find this exercise listed below. Am I to frown with my brows as far as possible while shutting lids tight like I have soap in my eyes or is this where I shut the lids without moving my brows down as if I was rolling my eyes at someone but just keeping the lids still down?
thanks for any help here. I want to make sure I do it correctly.

Library girl ~ These are the new directions from the Ultimate DVD. You place your index fingers between your brows pointing down and wrap your thumbs around your outer eye corners also pointing down as if you had a pair of sunglasses around your eyes. Now squeeze your eyes shut very tight. Now pull up with your index fingers up slightly between your brows and pull your thumbs up toward your ears slightly. Re-squeeze your eyes shut very tight. Hold and count to 40. You should really order the new DVD ~ much better than the original one. I have made some great strides in firming my entire face using her new program. Best, Elygirl |

Anyone else using Carole's skincare line? I have been using her retinol and egf serum for awhile and had some really good results. But then about 3-4 weeks, I ordered again. Only this time when the egf product came it was a different color. I have to say I like it even better. So I emailed Carole and she said it was even stronger EGF than the previous version. I am so impressed by how great my skin looks. Lines above my lips are fading and my fine lines much diminished. So there must be something to this new version. Anyone else have any opinions, experience with her product line? Best, Elygirl |

Thanks for the reply Elygirl. I get the idea about shutting eyes very tight but are we just shutting the eyelids tight AND moving our eyebrows toward the bottom of face? You know like when you get soap in your eyes and it hurts like heck? Do we do our eyelids and eyebrows that way or is it just closing the eyelid by itself like we are taking a nap? |

I have had the exact same experience with the EGF....I emailed Carole yesterday about the new one I just got in the mail and she told me the same thing. I like that this new formula doesn't have a fragrant smell. I honestly have been very impressed with all the different things I have ordered. I had also tried skinactives EGF and it did nothing but Carole's has really made my skin smooth and visibly diminished my pores. |

Glad you are having the same good results with the EGF Toby! My skin is very sensitive and everything with a scent seems to bother me, so the new unscented formula is perfect for me. It's nice to finally purchase something that actually delivers on its promises. Have you also tried her Facelift product? I used it before I went to a friends wedding and my face looked even more firm and lifted and it seemed to brighten and freshen my complexion. I was so impressed!! Best, Ely |
