Decleor Aromessence White Concentrate - HELP!

Hi everyone...

I'm a new member; 26 year old male with combination, spot prone skin; oily forehead and nose, dry red patches in my stubble area / lower cheeks.

I've mostly got the acne under control by using Freederm Lotion; just have a small spread of tiny pimples and the occasional, small infected hair folicle. This is great, but now I have to deal with the scars, the most annoying of which are some brown hyperpigmentation marks on my face and chest. Recently I've been having some Decleor facials as a gift, and this week the salon specialist sold me the Aromessence White Brightening Concentrate to sort out the hyperpigmentation marks....it cost £49! Now I've used a few of their products and have thought they're ok, but when I got home I thought I'd try and get a review of this stuff to see if it is actually worth my money or the right product for me and I've found...precisely nothing!

On reflection, I'm worried about using this oily stuff on my spot prone skin, and I'm also wondering if it actually works, especially on its own as it seems to be a base for the actual whitening cream?

Has anyone here used it and can advise me further? Seems an excellent, knowledgable place to ask! Sorry for the long post Very Happy

I have used this product with Decleor essential c serum and essential balm. I used them only in the evening. If you used them in the morning, you must apply sunscreen, at least spf30, above spf45 is better.
I only used one or two drop of this oil and pat them to be absorbed by skin. The result is my skin does get brighter noticeably, but it takes longer time to see the change of acne scar.
The products do work for me.
By the way, I think it's safer to use the aromaessence products together than combine them with other brands, you know, because of the essential oils. Otherwise it is more likely to cause allergy...Perhaps it is not so. I am very willing to hear the different opinions.

Something to add. I did not use them every day because it was a little oily and I was afraid I may get break-outs. So I only used them every other day. I do not get any problem till now.

Hi Carmina,

Thanks for you replies. So do you reckon just using the Aromessence White concentrate on its own, with a bog standard SPF moisturiser on top will actually do the job of removing my hyperpigmentation marks? Or do I need to buy other Decleor whitening products to get this?

If it wont I'd rather take it back and buy another whitening product that anyone recommends?

Hi, facialfrustration.
I would skip the Decleor product (if you get your money back). There is not much evidence that essential oils are effective in fading hyperpigmentation.

Instead, I would consider trying NIA24 Skin Strengthening Complex, which contains 5 % Myristyl Nicotinate (also called proNAD or pro-NIACIN, a special form of vitamin B3).

There are some independent studies demonstrating the properties of proNAD, and in the thread below you will find some great reviews on NIA24 products. Several people have found it effective in reducing hyperpigmentation.

I have recently been using the NIA24 Sun Damage Prevention (which also contains 5 % pro-NIACIN), and was very pleased with the results. It faded some light brown spots (sun damage) and some small scars.

I'd bag the Decleor, as well. You could check out the 302 thread and see if you are interested in anything like that. It is a Very long term process, just to give you a heads up. You could also call in the big guns with Hydroquinone as an option and check out the Obagi threads.

I think this whitening oil works well together with other Decleor whitening products. They work for me very noticeably after several weeks.

Of course there are other products for this aim, with them perhaps you will see effects quickly.

As far as I know, ingredients proved effective for whitening include kojic acid, Mulberry extract, vitamin C derivatives, arbutin, and Hydroquinone, for sure.

Is clinical Active serum together with super serum are good for brightenging. La Roche-Posay Mela-D line also has several effective products, you could check them out.

However, I must say Decleor has its merit. It is mild and does not irritate skin and has a very good result.

I have read that hydroquinone is bad so was avoiding it, so now I'm confused! It's a shame you can't just rub a cream in and have these marks disappear over night without any side effects Very Happy
