Oh...don't get me started! The big Sephora is amazing.
Apart from that, the perfume houses: Serge Lutens in the Palais Royale across from the Louvre,Comme des Garcons closeby, Frederic Malle, MPG and Iunx, all in the 6th* within walking distance of each other, the Caron and Guerlain flagship stores.
Dress well and be prepared to spend money at the last two, and Serge Lutens.
I haven't been, but there is a large designer outlet mall near Euro-Disney. |

Definitely check out the Sephora on Champs Elysee. Other than that, what are you after? There are some very nice and unique perfume houses in Paris. I also like checking out their local pharmacies for some skincare finds that are cheaper than overseas just because they are "European". |

I can't help with the clothes suggestions, I was definitely in a perfume and skincare mood when I was there For skincare, definitely check out the various little chemists! I hope you speak French, one of my difficulties was trying to figure out what all the different products were after I hadn't spoken French for over 10 years. I ended up buying some strange stuff |

No, sorry, I wasn't that organised when I was there. It wasn't really a planned trip as such so I was winging it with the shopping. Hopefully some of our French EDS members can chime in here? |

La Vallée Village is the name of the discount mall near Euro-Disney and it's at the Val d'Europe subway station.
(You're welcome.) |

You know, Russian Sunshine, I went to some trouble to provide answers to your questions. Would it be too much effort to say thank you, or at least acknowlege the responses I have given you? |

Goodness. I have never even noticed this feature. Now, I'm thinking of all the times I haven't thanked people for their suggestions and helpful comments. If you are someone I haven't thanked (Kassy, Sister Sweets, and many, many others...please forgive me. I will find the time next week, when my deadline's over, to go through the last few posts and responses to add a heart...) |

I was not expecting little hearts. Just some simple acknowlegement. |

I'm sure Russian was acknowledging you. This "hearting" thing is popular in other venues, but it's more noticeable there, like big throbbing red hearts. I didn't see that little grey thing Speaking of thanks...I get a lot of emails from people with skin problems asking me to answer long lists of questions and what-not. Do you think I have received a simple "Thank you" afterwards? No. Just once, with a lady from the UK with whom I corresponded in the last week. I am very grateful for her thanks as it is such a rare thing. |

In this forum you're supposed to send hearts instead of acknowledgments because acknowledgments are regarded as "empty messages" and those who receive notifications about the topic replies do not like to receive notifications about aknowledgments |

Ah, I see now. This is the first forum I have been on with the 'heart' function. It will be a struggle for me not to thank people publicly, but I will get on board with that. But if help, support and advice is offered in an email, not expressing thanks is just plain rude, in my opinion. |

Since EDS gives you discounts depending on the number of messages you write, some forum participants take advantage of that and send hundreds of "thank you" messages. That's why you have a heart option. |

OK. I'm in Paris now and can say that the best shopping is in Galeries Lafayette, they have a huge selection of absolutely everything Chanel, Prada, Versace and other less expensive but very good brand. They also have lots of seasonal discounts AND if u're a non^european citizen, then you get 12 percent tax reduction on everything that u buy!! As long as u spend not less than 175 euro in one day. This is really great! I didnt know about that!
Justine1900, I checked the outlet, but unfortunately didn't find anything, something that is really good is still very expensive, even with the discount. |
