Out of curiousity (what is all the hype about?) I looked up what Clarisonic was, I tell ya, NO ONE should use it. To have some motorized brush to your delicate facial skin TWICE a day spells disaster to me. It sounds and looks really abrasive. I am sure many have experienced their skin looking better right away, but they will most likely pay 10 years later with redness, wrinkles and other skin issues. Facial skin is delicate and shouldn't be disturbed too much.

Just wash your face really well.

How are you even using your Clarisonic and AHAs? Improper use may lead to the problems you observed

I'm not a fan of the Clarisonic personally but the Clarisonic is different then other motorized brushes that spin. The Clarisonic does not spin, its vibrates, similar to the sonicare toothbrush. I also don't think its recommended to use 2x a day.

It is recommended to use two times a day, but you're only scrubbing for a minute each time. And yes, the Clarisonic has caused a lot of controversy because we were always told to treat skin very delicately and to apply moisturizers with our ring fingers because it is the weakest therefore most gentle finger. However, the sonicare's bristles are extremely soft, and they don't completely rotate as someoneone mentioned - they vibrate. That way, it doesn't pull your skin too far. It just flexes your pores to allow your cleanser to go in and do a better job of cleaning, and the vibration just takes it back out. I've only used mine for about 3 days, so my review of it can't be TOO reliable. But since then, I noticed a lot of my milia bumps are starting to go away, so I'm loving it right now

I've been tempted by one of these since reading threads from members on Obagi who are removing the flakies that way

Reading this thread has given me pause - I'm not sure if what I have IS rosacea or not (tho the nurse who recommended the Nu Derm said so) but I do have the odd broken cap

Anyone out there using Obagi & one of these AND have broken caps or rosacea? Or would it really be insane to do so?

So many conflicting ideas... Confused

I've only had my Mia for a week and while my skin feels smooth after using it, it looks pretty much the same, except I noticed a capillary by my nostril is a bit longer, which is worrying. Perhaps I'm being too rough with my skin. I've been using Olay Pro X microscrub twice a day.

I know you aren't supposed to press down on the brush so I don't but I kind of swirl it over my face. Should I be holding it still in one spot and then move to the next spot?

When I use it around and on my nose, the vibration kind of tickles!

If the capillaries get worse can a derm use a needle to get rid of them, like schlerotherapy or by cauterizing?

@ Softskin - I had a few IPL treatments to get rid of mine... not too successfully round the side of the nose, I must say - apparently they're the most stubborn ones. & they do tend to come back eventually anyway, from what I hear

Possibly the needle is better at these? Never had that done...

I love my Clarisonic, and have noticed a decrease in cappilaries on my nose, mostly because the Clarisonic cleans out the gunk so I am not squeszing!!

I had an Cooltouch lazer treatment to treat the caps on my nose and cheek area near the nose - still gone after almost a year!!
