I have extreme fibrocystic breast tissue, except mine stays sore year round, it only changes intensity. All of my docs have had me run thru the gamut of supplement, no caffeine, etc. and it has not worked.
Finally, the last 2 gynos/surgeons have told me there is no "cure" per say for it that can stop it it, only alleviate the symptoms. The pill can help but I am menopausal after my hysterectomy 6 years ago. Also, aleve and such can help the tenderness.
In Jan., I am undergoing tissue removal and a breast lift to remove excessive tissue to help with the pain ( I am a D to DD so I can lose some happily). Fortunately my insurance is paying for it (well everything but that darned deductible). I have not had the full 6 weeks for recovery time yet so I am having to wait until then.
I am about to try Sensiva which sells in Texas at HEB in the vitamin section. They market it for sensitive breast tissue so I will post back after I try it and let you know.
If you find something let me know.
I feel your pain, Laughing so hang in there!

My dr said to avoid caffeine. But I have also found that some BCP's will help with this.

AnnieR i feel sorry for you to have to put up with it all the time Sad Its bad enough before a period..wouldnt be so bad if it was just a few days but last time it lasted 10 days. I can feel it coming on again now and my period isnt due for 2 weeks.

I dont drink coffee much at all. A couple of cups a week.

I often read about Evening Primrose for PMS. Has anyone tried it?

Ive considered going on the pill to see if it helps.

Evening Primrose didn't help me. My hubby went to HEB and bought the Sensiva yesterday for me so I am trying that to see how well it works. I'll get back with you on that one.

Since, I started my period I have had the most painful breasts. I remember 2 weeks before my period I could not even bend to turn the shower on. Breast exams of any kind were out of the question. Breast feeding was the biggest torture I went through and it was more painful than child birth. Anyway looking back I wish I had known about 2 things. Evening primrose oil which did wonders for me and progesterone cream. Apparently I was Estrogen dominant and as a result I spend just about my entire youth in excruciating pain!

Yes, this is what I have read as well. Estrogen dominance causing many PMS symptoms.

Carolb69,

you could try a natural progestone cream; use it starting day 14 of your cycle and stopping when your cycle begins. I have the same problem as you and others, breast tenderness, swelling, for nearly 3 weeks out of every month. What a drag! I have been tempted to try a prgesterone cream, myself.
