deanne123,
My kids all 4 are grown youngest is 20 this may strike you as odd but a lot of friends did this as well, once babies could sit up I bathed them in the kitchen sink, and they all loved it. They grow so fast I had the infant tub then used the sink then they got too big for that so the regular tub was it from then on. Of course nobody had invented this yet!
BTW CONGRATULATIONS!

Just a quick reply as I have to run, but I have a boy 4 years and girl 2 years and bought the tummy tub for my boy before he was born, but I only used it once! The problem is that you need both hands to hold the baby in the bucket, while in a baby bathtub you have the baby laying on your arm and use the other to wash him. I sold my tummy tub and never regretted it! For me it is one of those things you think you need.
Much better advice: look into babywearing and buy an elastic shawl (www.thebabywearer.com)
Best of luck to you |

Congrats on the great news!
Those tubs were before my time. When bathing a baby however, I liked the little baby tub with the incline for when you need to wash their hair. If they wanted to sit up and splash, I just held them there. I wouldn't leave the baby alone at all no matter what type of tub I had, i.e. always kept at least one hand and two eyes on baby. When they're much older, and in the big tub, then they can have a long playtime. |
