Lately my eyes have really been bothering me and I noticed too that I was looking at the monitor with sort of a 1/2 squint. Yesterday I realized that I had never adjusted the picture on the monitor so I turned down the contrast and the brightness and it has really made a big difference. For those of you who, like me, work on a computer, try it and see how it eases the eye strain. I think I'll still get the filter but this is so much better. |

Filters work quite well - or at least they made a significant difference to me in the past. I'm not too sure if the difference is so substantial with today's technology in monitors though. The other thing to watch out for too is the refresh rate of the monitor - if that is not set properly it can make your eyes strain and give you headaches (been there! ). |

After I read the first post I found myself sitting here opening my eyes as wide as I could. My son thought I had gone into a trance. LOL I looked a bit like this: |

I'm not sure what you mean by refresh rate..if you mean the time it takes to refresh/reload, how is that monitored/changed? |

Refresh rate is the frequency with which the monitor re-draws what it shows you. You can play around with that in the monitor settings (if you have WinXP then right click on the desktop, click on Properties, then on Advanced and the setting should be in their somewhere). |
