Hello everyone! I have been lurking for a few weeks and have been having a tough time (with technical difficulties) trying to officially register and login successfully. The administrators of the forum helped me and I'm finally able to chat with you lovely people.
I look forward to learning from (and sharing my personal knowledge with) all of you.
Cheers! |

Hi natieya!
Tell us a little about yourself.
I am 53 and teach Ancient History to high school students. I have 2 children, both boys and 1 granddaughter. I have a miniature dachshund that I love very, very much. I have been married 31 years!
My skin is very sensitive with rosacea; I have also had 2 basal cell carcinomas on my nose.
What about you? |

I am 30, acne-prone skin that is dry underneath, but extremely oily on top. I have to blot several times a day, but I have found an oil mattifier cream that works well enough to tone it down quite a bit. I am using acne products prescribed by my derm, but I am trying to wean myself off it because I hear bad things about benzoyl peroxide...I don't want to age too fast. I have heard horror stories and I don't want to be a statistic.
Thanks for the kind welcome!
ETA: I got married in June of 08. We are trying to hold off on kids for about 2 years. ...Til hubby finishes school. |

natieya ~
It is nice to hear about you. We waited to have children for a couple years, too, when we first got married. My son is 27 this year and is getting married in November!
Congratulations on your marriage!
I don't really have your skin type ~ but ~ I was reading an article today about skin care for all ages which said as usual that sunscreen with SPF 30 was the most important component of any skin care system, then an anti - oxidant serum (they recommended a Vitamin C serum), a gentle cleanser and moisturizer as needed. |

Thanks, Charmed. I have sunscreen, but I have to admit I'm not faithful to it. Being African American, with fairly brown skin, I sometimes think I'm impervious to the sun's harmful rays. I know that's not true, though. |
