A little interesting info including EWG and how the did indeed help!

http://bestorganicandnaturalskincare.com/

Did you know that cancer-causing chemicals have been found in the skin care products you use every day? In fact, they’ve even been found in those labeled as natural and organic! Cancer has been the second leading cause of death in the U.S. for many years … and it still is. Even children are getting cancer, and their rate is increasing. It’s time to find out how to protect yourself and your family.

Now, you may be wondering …

Are you kidding me? How is that possible? There are so many rules and regulations in this country, surely there are some laws to protect the consumer from cancer-causing ingredients in skin care products, especially those that claim to be natural and organic!

Well, the truth of the matter is there are NOT!

The cosmetics and skin care industry is unregulated. The FDA cannot tell them what chemicals they can use and which they cannot. The ingredients used, even in skin care products labeled as natural and organic aren’t even required to be tested for safety. In fact, a study on the safety of 7,500 personal care products, done by the Environmental Working Group in 2004 found that 99.6% of the products tested contained one or more ingredients that had never been tested for safety by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review, the industry’s self proclaimed watchdog!

saisai,
Thanks I found it informative as well as disturbing! They just don't seem to care what they allow us to think is safe! Makes me
more inclined to make my own whenever possible!

I'm a big fan of Alba Botanica.

Trader Joe's has some awesome natural products too (especially TJ's glorious Nourish shampoo and conditioner).

And finally, while not cheap, John Master's rocks.

I haven't tried that cleanser, but I like the other products I've tried. I especially love John Masters Organics Rose & Aloe Hydrating Toning Mist.

Tried the ginsing and jojoba cleanser last night. It feels very nice. It's a cream cleanser. It is very much like Juice beauty's exfoliating cleanser.

There are definitely some brands there that I am going to try, thanks for all the info!
At the moment I'm using Dr. Hauschka, though not cheap I've found the products to be pretty good.
I've tried the Avalon organics shampoo and conditioner and I just didn't find they cleaned my hair, my hair (as a few have mentioned) felt like it had an oily film on it, I'm using Keratese (not organic or natural) at the moment but would definitely like to hear about some good organic / natural alternatives!

My votes are for Earth Science and Mychelle products. Specifically, Earth Science's azulene eye cream and A-D-E creamy cleanser. Mychelle's pumpkin peel and creamy pumpkin cleanser are excellent!

I also find it disturbing that when you buy products or even oils for scent making they do not have to disclose the ingredients.

just "skin safe and natural"
or else "not safe for skin uses , fragrance"

this is even for the big companies that sell fragrance oils by the large quantity.

I guess those large companies do not want people to know their exact formulas maybe?

Usually the fragrance samples I got were just labeled "fragrance" and by law companies do not have to disclose.
They have to provide you with a paper saying it is safe to use though.

An English brand the Body Shop is cheap and qualified..

Body Shop is not organic, and not all natural either.

They use a lot of artificial stuff in their items (and are now owned by Loreal, same for burts bees).

I have a body shop body wash here and at least in Canada the ingrdient label is hidden under a sticker on the bottle, and it is hard to read too.

Body shop apparently used to use a lot of parabens in their items and at few weeks ago was clearing out the Tee Tree face stuff and reformulating it-girl in the store told me that.

So Body shop is somewhat improving.

I like Giovanni, but not too sure how "organic" they really are?

Their products all say "pure organic technology"

and they use silicones in many of their items.

I like what I tried of the line so far though.

PVP/VA Copolymer

Is this an organic ingredient??
Because it is in many of the Giovanni conditioner and styling products.

Natural products, Great prices and they have won alot of awards for their product. Check them out Smile

I bought a jar of Clear Vein cream. It is Two ounces. It is to help with broken caps, bruises. It is too soon to report, but it was a reasonable option (instead of laser).

I have really been liking the Earth Science skin care stuff I purchased a few months ago. I also enjoy Now Foods (they make vitamins) but also skin and hair care. They are a reliable/trusting brand that uses good quality natural stuff. hth.

I've been really in to Rhassoul soap ever since I got a sample with my Tua Viso. As far as I know its made with mostly all natural, organic ingredients.

I also like organic extra virgin olive oil as a good all purpose moisturizer.

I really like a brand called Deep Steep.
they have all natural body products only.

Just bought a sampler of the Honeydew Spearmint scent online and shower gel is nice, and body lotion is nice too.
have not tried other scents yet.

But the honeydew spearmint is not very scented and it is a very mild scent and wears off quickly for the body lotion.
But still I really like it as it is nice and not a annoying fake scent.

skincarerx sells the sampler bags, as does vitacost.
(but skincarerx has the full ingredient listing).

The website on my tube is www.deepsteep.com

anyone use this line or the other scents they have?

I went back and read the first post and noticed Hugo Naturals was on the list. I am in love with the orange vanilla scent. I just ordered some lotion from Vitacost so as far as if it works I will report back.

Also next on my lemming list to order is shampoo and conditioner from Pure life soap company. It's new just starting out, I requested samples but since they are so small they couldn't grant that request. Vitacost carries their products.

I really want to try that brand.
I almost bought the travel kit of orange vanilla items.

I like Derma E,
but I am very doubtful their serums actually do anything.
They feel nice on the skin and moisturize and are nice for summer.
But as far as "anti aging" or whatever I am not so sure.

Also, Derma E in Canada, is really overpriced compared to the US.

Some of the Derma E products in Canada can cost $40 or more... Shock

In the US most Derma E seems to be $20 or less.
It is actually cheaper for me to order Derma E online, pay shipping to Canada, tax, duty than buy it at the local drugstore chain!

I love Cyleina Organinc Apple & Cinnamon soap. I love the scent of cinnamon. I have also used their organic tomato soap to treat my pimples. Dried my pimples faster than the usual acne soap I have tried.

Omorovicza mineral skin care - love their thermal cleansing balm. It's my favorite make up remover. I also like their tinted moisturizer, Complexion Enhancer with spf 15.
