Hi
I just read that this peel is good for removing scars. I have some on my cheeks which make my skin suface look so rough.
I've never heard of it until recently and have only used glycolic acid in the past to remove the red marks. Is anyone still using this with success? Where do you by your peels? What should I be aware of when using it?

Thanks

Julie Robins' products get rave reviews on EDS. She recommends that you don't use TCA peels right away if you're new to it, though I'm sure others will chime in with suggestions.

PS: I placed an order for TCA Complex from greatfaceplace (Julie's ebay store) and requested a shipping total for the UK. I didn't hear anything for ages, so I emailed her.

It seems ebay have banned sales of TCA, so she couldn't process my order. Are there any other options for me? I can't buy from her site as they don't take my Debit card.

well, when using the cross, which you probably know is most commonly most effective on the ice picks, you'd use a higher percentage with a pinpoint application, so i wouldn't really call it a peel.

but tca peels can also help with scars- either 10% and up for repeated peels to produce effects or a couple at around 25%. this might all be info you know. i've had 3 in-office 25% tca's administered by a derm and i wouldn't do this myself. lots of room for mistakes/further damage and definitely painful. but it smooths out the edges of the scars and eradicates any lingering red marks.

other things to be aware of, besides the pain and dangers, are the lengthy downtime and the fact it looks much worse during this downtime before it gets better. it's pretty intense at 20% and up. as for the actual cross method, there is definitely a risk with the pinpoint application technique if you go outside of the center at all, you can cause further scarring or make the scars appear wider.
