I've always used Dr. H Rose Light day cream, decided to take a break for the summer, and skin is OK, getting a little oily (with the cream it balanced it). I just want to try something new -
and was looking at the DR. H Moisturizing cream, the Weleda Wild Rose day cream or moisturizing one - anyone tried it yet?
I have combination skin - but it totally normalizes with Dr. H rose light day cream - I can always go back to it, I just want to try something new
Thanks in advance
Edit to add: one thing that confuses me is how come rose light and rose are more expensive than the moisturizing cream? |

i have tried a lot of moisturizing cream (creme de la mer, dermologica, Nars, Fresh, H2O, Biotherm, shiseido....) but not of them impressed me too much, except the olive oil containing squalene, it really help balancing my oily skin and reduing oil secretion.. |

I really like Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizer Cream. It helps me go though the whole winter when my skin is extremely dry. |

Funny enough I cannot see Edit button on my previous post
Anyways, just ordered rose day cream, so excited to get my hands on it - only worry if it's not too heavy, but I think more moisture is better than less or none... |

im a HUGE fan of dermalogica....i use active moist. i find that its light and easy to apply. leaves my skin feeling soft and healthy looking. futhermore, it has kept my blackheads and other ugly pimples away for the last 5 years...so i love it. will not use anything else but dermalogica stuff for skincare. they have other moisturisers as well...i will try them one day. |

Just took a look at the moisturizer balancer - it's full of parabens, synthetic polymers, etc... Now I remember why I chose Dr. H over dermalogica |

hi zverenok
sorry to ask a silly question, but i havent researched what ingredients are in what products i use. i just use them if it looks nice on my skin/ feel nice.
what's wrong with the ingredients that you've mentioned?????? are they bad for you? |

well, I try to be a conscious consumer, and with the vast variety of products available I actually have choice and I try to chose products with ingredients that are as natural as possible without synthetic fillers, polymers and so on.
So before I buy anything, especially stuff that I put on my face, I look at the ingredients. Research is being done all the time, however not enough of it was done for a long enough period of time - e.g. effect of parabens after x years of usage? etc. I don't see the reason to have synthetics if it's possible to not have them. |

It seems to me that you want something more natural. Why not try jojoba oil? |

I have jojoba, and avocado oils, but I don't have time in the mornings before going to work to put it, wait a bit, do something else. I use those in the evening, not everyday - after ocm or bath. In the morning I need something that will moisturize my skin and not leave it greasy or shiny. So far, I've tried Yonka (a while back) and another organic Australian line - Kosmea. Didn't like both - as both made my skin red. Kosmea I suspect had too many essential oils, don't remember what was wrong with Yonka.
But Dr. H Rose light was marvelous. Although sometimes I felt like not enough in rough winter months, especially with the wind. So, after much deliberation I ordered the Rose cream (regular) from Dr. H - will see how it goes. |

i guess i'm not as conscious of these things as you are....
i've been told by my father-in-law that he has seen on TV there is something in deodorant that causes cancer - and that there are ingredients in most skincare/mark-up products that can cause cancer.
Honestly, i have never paid much attention to this. I will, when i have some time, research these things. I guess the best thing to do is not to use anything at all on your skin but water?
AGain, i will try to do more research. thanks for your advice on the matter. it's nice to find out what other people know. |

yeah, i have noticed that alot of people are diverging to more organic/natural products. not in just skincare or make-up, but foods etc.
i guess as it grows in popularity, more research will go into producing products that are good for your skin. |

I never wait for jojoba to sink in. First I apply my Vivier vitamin C, wait and style my hair, then apply Cellcosmet eye cream, then jojoba oil, then my eltaMD sunblock. Then I get changed, make the bed, put on my accessories and eye makeup. I have the same problem in the winter where my chin and nose area skin would peel. Sometimes around my eyes also. I would apply jojoba oil on top of it at work or my Cellcosmet cream and dab any concealer if needed. |

As far as day creams go....if the product doesn't have at least spf 15 than I wouldn't use it. If you apply it as a separate layer over your moisturizer that would be good. |

Yes - aluminum compound in deodorants can be carcinogenic, main problem with it is that it settles in organs, and does not leave the body...
Skincare, thank you about the tip with jojoba - will be sure to try it. (I don't use much makeup, actually nothing except for sometimes a mineral foundation), and with Dr. H I didn't really have too - my skin was great.
Regarding SPF in creams. You might have read some recent stuff about SPF protection and how there is a lot of hype associated with it. And did you know, there is currently no standard for claiming SPF level?
Did you know that healthier alternatives are wearing breathable clothing, hat etc? And if you are in the office all day, like I am and only drive when the sun is really low, and drive back when it's beginning to set, than there is no need for the sunscreen.
Actually, SPF - chemical sunscreens are just plain bad for you and can cause more damage to the skin than not wearing them, the physical ones - based on TD and zinc oxide should really be used in combination with antioxidants?! So, no need really to claim that if a product doesn't have SPF 15 it's no good... |

I think you are in the same shoes I am. We can never enjoy the sunshine! I have to wear sunblock, I have reactive skin and a couple people in my family had cancer, including skin that spread internally. It not hard to apply and quick, depending on the quality you are able to find. |

I am sorry to hear that (re - cancer). That's awful.
At the same time - what you said about the quality - you have to do thorough research about the SPF industry and actually be sure to read the amount of zinc oxide (percentage or per weight) on the container. I've seen some interesting things _ a bottle claiming SPF 20 had X amount of zinc oxide; next - from same company, bottle claiming SPF 30 had less than X amount of zinc oxide (all other ingredients the same)! And you wouldn't even notice it if you weren't looking for it... |

For summer, I recmmond decleor matt finish fluid or korres pangenating hydrating cream.
Rose cream is more expensive because the essential oil of rose is really expensive.

Zverenok,
you also might like the cream from www.beautifulonraw.com. I am using it now and really like it a lot (unless you hate vanilla flavor).
It is organic, with tons of excellent ingredients (including sea-buckthorn).

Rose essential oil is worth all it's cost btw. |
