So I have been doing DIY for about 3 months now and I think I haven't gotten the basics right.
What is the preferred ph level for any cream/moisturiser?
I just got the ph strips and i realised that my serums are about ph2 and my creams are like ph 8!!
HELP!!! I remember reading about PH somewhere, but i can't find the thread. What should you add to reduce or increase your PH? the moisturisers i whip up have a ph of 8 or 9 which is extremely high. Is that why it stings my face? What ingredients do you use to manage your ph levels? |

funkydory, in the DIY Recipe Index, near the bottom under General Info there is a thread entitled Tangal's Info on pH and product application wait times. Is that the one you mean? |

Actually I'd also be interested to know of an ingredient to add to purchased liquid cleansers, shampoos, etc, to lower the pH. Any suggestions? |

Hi Funkydory
I am also interested in this topic.
I assume if the ph isn't correct the product doesn't work properly on the skin. I think it's very important to have the right ph level.
I remember reading that hylauronic acid raised the ph level in a vitamin c recipe, and I beleive any citrus acid will lower the ph.
I have read all kinds of information on the normal ph level of ones skin (conflicting, I might add ) but not much info on what raises or lowers the ph and at what amount. I hope someone with more knowledge on the subject will chime in |
