Hi All
I keep reading about microfiber cloths, what are they exactly and are they better than just a regular wash cloth?
I tend to get the "flakies", is it worth buying a microfiber cloth or does a wet wash cloth work just as well?
I would be interested in anyones opinion

| Linda, they are great to remove flakes. I got them quite a while back when I experimented with Retin A (which was too irritating for me so I stopped using it). But it took care of removing the flakes. Just use it gently only. I had gotten mine on ebay. |

The best microfiber cloth I have used is from NCN. You can check it out here:

| Hi, Monica. I would have to go and measure it! It is at least the size of a regular wash cloth, but I am not sure of the exact size! Not sure if you have used the PSF microfiber cloth before, but the NCN microfiber cloth is way bigger than that. Sorry, not sure if that helps you or not! |

LOL, thanks, sounds good then. I have seen them so tiny before, mine too are that of a regular wash cloth at least, and I wanted to know for when I want to get new ones  |

LOL, thanks, sounds good then. I have seen them so tiny before, mine too are that of a regular wash cloth at least, and I wanted to know for when I want to get new ones |
Well, I am glad I helped then!  Yes, those tiny ones are useless in my opinion, barely enough material to grab on to and try to scrub your face!! |

I purchased a cloth from NCN a few months ago, and have since purchased a few more as gifts for family and friends. Although I have not used microfiber cloths from other skincare companies and thus cannot offer a comparison in that respect, I can say that the NCN cloth is definitely thicker than the cloths you would buy for dusting and for use on cars. Mine is beige in color and is satin-lined, about 8" by 8", I would say. It has a waffle pattern, and is very plush (has a luxurious feel to it). In terms of manual exfoliation, you gently use circular motions to remove the flakies. I'm not sure if it works "better" than a normal microfiber cloth, but it is very gentle, effective, and definitely makes you feel like you are pampering yourself. The cloth lasts a long time, and I think it's really worth the money. |

I have a Jane Iredale cleansing mitt and a cloth from PSF, both work okay. I also use the Japanese cleasning cloths on my body and chest and back.
None of them work as well as the Clarisonic Mia for my flakies though. The PSF cloths are too small to be practical for me. |

| Although i know many on this forum love the NCN microcloth..it is way too irritating..and inflaming.. for my sensitive skin (I believe any microcloth would be) |

I hope this doesn't get me kicked off the forum (I'm still a newbie here), but you can find microfiber cloths at big box stores such as Target. I found a pack of 8 large (larger than a standard washcloth) ones in the automotive (gasp!) section for under $10.00. You could try them, and if they don't work for you, you haven't lost that much.
But Monica34 is right -- use them gently until you know how your skin will respond. |

I got one from NCN and have been using it since then. It takes care of flakes very well. I'm glad I have it. |
