This is a video of using moisturizer to tame curly hair...really interesting for those of us trying to tame our mane...

Unfortunately, I can't see the vid - just some discussion posts.

Sounds interesting, though.

I just wish I could find out what an older woman with very curly hair is supposed to do...he says not to cut short but doesn't that drag down an older woman's face?

I'll try to summarize what he says to do:

Emulsify your organic hair conditioner by rubbing a dollop of conditioner between your hands until it feels on the dry side.

Work it thru your hair.

Repeat about 5 (five) times or until your hair feels like it has enough. (I was really surprised about how much conditioner he used and the fact that you could change it's texture).

Diffuse it dry by hanging your head to each side and then arrange your style with fingers making sure to back out of the hair the same way you went into the hair.

THEN, take another dollop of emulsified hair conditioner and smooth it over any frizzies and crunch excess into hair.

Don't know why you can't see the video but hope this helps.

Thanks very much indeed for that, MaryClaire.

Have you tried this yet? I'm a little worried about leaving on so much conditioner, but anything's worth a try! I think I'll do it when I'm not expecting to leave the house, just in case, though.

Hi Majorb,

I only tried it once and I used shea butter leave in conditioning repair cream.

I was happy with the outcome...it looked healthier... with all the conditioner it should Smile and I did use a roller up front to uncurl the bang curls a little.

It doesn't feel greasy at all. Of course, a lot would depend on your hair type...I have thick, course, very curly hair. With the gray hair adding another level of coarseness, think horse hair with curl.Smile

I'm going to keep on using the method. I think it will get better with practice and I think a lot will depend on the conditioner that you use. It's hard to know the correct feel for the emulsified conditioner. I tried two different types and they both felt different.

It's encouraging to hear that you had good results. When I've finished re-decorating and have a little more time, I'll give it a try.

My own hair is fine, but it is becoming more coarse because of the grey factor.

Thanks again! Very Happy
