when it gets way too hot and humid during certain times in the year, aloe vera is my go-to moisturizer (i live in the tropics). otherwise, while it's a good product, it's just not providing enough moisture for my skin |

Really? You don't find it moisturizing enough? I think it's the perfect moisturizer because it leaves my skin soft without being oily. And it seems to REALLY improve the tone and color of my skin. I have been using it daily. Less redness and dryness, GONNA KEEP THE ALOE AROUND!! |

smokinsavsy,
Jojoba can be found in most all health food stores! If you don't have any close it's readily available from online sellers.

i found that aloe vera gel or vitamin e gel, left on my skin makes me break out into a rash. i thought it was the gel component, so then i tried it fresh from one of my large old plants (aloe vera). same thing.
however i did notice that the bottle products tends to dry and flake off or pill. did anyone else notice this? |

Aloe Vera gel should be 100% pure nothing added, a lotion would usually have other ingredients added. We would need the full ingredient list to be certain! That's not saying the lotion isn't good!
Jojoba like everything has gone up but I just recently purchased 24 oz. for around 29$ USD that will last a good while! Locally not online.

OIC. so if i like aloe vera lotion, the gel might work a little better for me if its pure. i'm going to look for that. i am going to definitely try jojoba too. is there anything that has both aloe and jojoba in them that you know of? |

There are many pure Aloe Vera products available but just make sure you purchase something that has Aloe Vera listed in the ingredient list and oly a few thereafter, allot of products list 'contains pure aloe vera' watch out for these products because they only contain a trace amount of the actual ingredient, also have a look for one at your chemist as they generally offer better quality aloe vera products.
I have switched most of my products to ones that have alooe vera listed as the first ingredient rather than water and have noticed a huge difference in my skin. I highly recommend it, it's very healing and the inability for the skin to continue healing itself as we get older is one of the factors that ages it. I like to take a multi-factor approach to my skincare and include ingredients that help with those factors. |

I use aloe vera mixed with jojoba oil for my moisturizer too!
What I do is use the aloe vera gel that's sold in the food section of the health food store, not the cosmetics section - it's the edible kind. You have to shake it up a bit as it does separate, but I find it absorbs much more quickly into my skin. |

I love using pure aloe vera as well, but lately I've been using jojoba oil and that really balances my oily Tzone.
I did not try using the aloe and jojoba together. I usually use a bit of water with my jojoba oil but I will replace that with aloe. Sounds like an interesting experiment for the next week! Thanks for the ideas guys
Also, I was researching aloe as an ingredient a little while ago and found this really helpful post about its properties, written by a cosmetic chemist in training:

That is a good idea using the aloe vera mixed with jojoba oil, I'll give a try when my next big breakout shows it's head |

Aloe Vera is considered to be one of the best natural remedy for skin care. It is good to treat the acne problem. You have provided one more good use of Aloe Vera. |

Hi,
This is my first time buying real pure aloe vera. It does not feel like gel that much and it is watery.
I bought mine from New Directions (Canada) http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/
It is sold under raw materials.
I like to mix it sometimes with my lotion. I think the aloe vera you buy from the store that claim 100% has other ingredients. I do find those have a cooling feel to it, but with the real one, I don't feel that. |

Just wanted to ask... does anyone else use just plain Aloe Vera Gel for their face moisturizer? I've been using it everyday for the past few weeks, and noticed my skin looks great! It seems to not only glow, but the redness has been reduced, and its so soft! Of course, I also have the AALS, which helps my skin repair itself, but I swear Aloe Vera Gel is better to use than all these overly priced creams/lotions. And it's cheap! Anyone else? |
Aloe Vera is very beneficial for your skin as it moisturizes it and provides a radiant glow on your face. Aloe Vera improves the skin texture and makes your skin supple. Lots of people have used it and get benefited. |

I use 100% aloe vera gel... it is oil free and antibacterial... it is great for my break outs!!! and great moisturiser... ill never go back also great under make up as there is no spf (the oily heaviness of it makes makeup yucky) and it is light!!!
I love it!!!! |

That's what I'm doing. I add some osmosis LAA to my aloe vera sometimes.Im wondering can you use any ascorbic powder made for skincare? Is that what you use or do you use powder especially for this method (eg like the osmosis one) I have some Ascorbic acid powder I purchased from skinactives and am wondering if I can use it like this.
I love AV, I use the one by aubrey organics..its also very watery. |

You can certainly try to use any suitable Vitamin C Powder - but some can be difficult to dissolve. The Osmosis powder dissolves very easily, that's why I like to use it. But you can definitely try other powders.
I'm really liking this method of application. |
