FYI, just to clarify, I use Tazorac every other night. And I apply it 15 min after I've washed my face and applied my oil, HA serum, etc. |

If you apply the Tazorac over the oil, the oil will have a buffering effect - not that there''s anything wrong with that. |

My skin actually needs this "buffering" effect b/c it's so sensitive! Occasionally I will apply the tazorac to clean skin (15 min after I wash my face) and then apply my other stuff though. But if I do it consistently my skin gets SO irritated.

That leads to another question. I know I've read somewhere on this forum that Emu oil pushes products deeper into the skin. As someone just starting Retin-A, are there oils to avoid because they do that? |
That's a good question - and yes, I do use Emu Oil. I'm not sure if other oils are also "pushers", however, I would imagine that the healing element of oils outweighs any contra-effects.
I'm pretty sure that Dr Pickhardt from Skin Biology recommends the use of Emu Oil over Retin-A and CPs - but you might want to check that. |
Thanks, Keliu. I want to stay away from anything that pushes it in. I wonder what other oils have that effect, because I do want to use an oil or oil blend on top. |

I would give Jojoba Oil a try - it's not really an oil but a wax ester. It's composition is very similar to the skin's sebum. |
