Dont quote me but Im sure you could since Hemp is a carrier oil, maybe just wait a bit until a very experienced oil user spots this thread.

Zelda,
You can add essential oils to any carrier oil
or Jojoba (technically a liquid wax ester). You need to just make sure to stick to recommended concentrations of essential oils per ounce ie:
10 drops essential oil to 1 ounce
40 drops essential oil to 4 ounces
these are considered the safe guidelines.
One point on hemp oil, it will turn rancid quickly, it has a pungent natural odor but shouldn't smell off or really bad.
Don't get me wrong I love it as it is very moisturizing to the skin! Just be aware it shouldn't stink!

This is always a toughie! It really depends on just how fresh it is when purchased! Proper handling, shipping and how long it has been sitting when you finally get your hands on it!
Let's say it was fresh and had been handled properly before purchasing, I would recommend purchasing no more then you will use up in a six month period. This pertains to hemp oil specifically. Different oils different shelf life.
I am going to repeat myself the oil may smell grassy, herby, and this may be strong, but no oil you buy should STINK! there is a difference between a natural pungent odor and a RANCID STENCH! your nose will tell you, if it really stinks you just need to pitch it!
