A mixture of herbs from Brazil has been shown to reduce dark circles under serum under the eyes. Researches studied 21 women, ages 20 to 55, instructing them to apply a serum containing Brazilian ginseng, marapuama, and white lily twice daily. After 28 days, 90 percent of the participants had measurable improvements in skin tone and luminance around their eyes, and 76 percent of them reported seeing positive changes in the appearance of dark circles, according to investigators' report in the Jounral of Cosmetic Dermatology. The treatment (called Bioskinup Contour) also reduced under eye puffiness and fine wrinkles, says lead study author Samara Eberlin, a researcher at Chemyunion Quimica, the company that makes the product. (Currently it is available only in Europe and Russia.) The herbs contain flavonoids and saponins, which are believed to improve circulation and fight inflammation and swelling, Eberlin explains. The causes of under eye circles are not well understood, she says, but factors that may contribute to or exacerbate the condition include sun exposure, smoking, alcohol, salty foods, dehydration, stress, and lack of sleep. |

| Sounds promising! I also found something called "Legendaryeyes" that has Bioskinup in it. From a company called "EyeSlicesbiotanixuk". It's not a cream though and says "New in the UK 2010". I will see if my Mother-in-Law can get a hold of it for me when it's available and I'll see if she can get me the Eye Cream too. |
