Hi everyone,
For many years of my life, I have struggled with mild but persistant acne. I'm 29 years old now and still struggling but my concerns are not quite different from when I was in my teens and early 20's. My skin is very dry or dehydrated. For example, I see flakes on my nose and I definitely need to apply moisturizer after cleansing my face or my face would feel tight. But...I'm also still experiencing acne. I usually blot once a day only in my t-zone area and my cheeks stay relatively dry for most of the day.
Can someone help me out??? What can I do to combat both my dryness/dehydration while also dimishing acne? Any suggestions on products, treatments, or medication would be appreciated!
Thanks! |

One of my friend was also suffering from acne rashes on her cheeks for many months. She tried a lot of products but they were not effective. Then she heard the name of Himani BOROPLUS Anti-acne cream and she make a try of it also. Now her rashes are reduced a bit.She is continuing the product.I think you can also make a try of it. |

Have you thought about going to a derm?
What products are you using now? Possibly the products you are using now could be creating your issues. |

I would begin to use retin a to normalise your skin and get rid of the acne.
I know that many people with acne overcleanse their skin and thus make it dry. Regardless of skin type, i would never cleanse more than once a day.
If you start to use retin a, i would not bother with a cleanser at all.....retin a penetrates much deeper than a cleanser ever will. I would properly wash your face with hot water in the evening, wait 15 mins.... apply the retin a, wait 15 -20 mins then apply jojoba oil to balance your skins oil production.
In the morning, i would rinse your face with hot water, then apply jojoba oil alone.
IMO, this will clear your skin......but give it a few weeks to show effect, retin a brings out the underlying spots before clearing your skin. |

Thanks for everyone's help.
Right now, I'm using the following:
Cover Fx's CleanFx face and eye cleansing solution. I use this to dissolve makeup and my sofina waterproof sunscreen.
Then I use Marcelle's gentle foaming cleansing gel. I use a little sponge and gently circle my face with the sponge. Then I moisturize with Impruv lotion. I'mnot sure if Impruv is available in places other than Canada but I do know that Marcelle is only available in Canada.
My derm prescribed Benzaclyn - which I believe is a benzyl peroxide and clindamycin mix.
In my next derm appointment, I'll definitely ask about retin A, as it seems to be a wonderful solution for alot of people. any other thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! |
