On 302 website they suggest to use the 302 ointment as the sunscreen. I really like its texture and how it felt on my skin so far, but I am concerned is it adequate to be sunscreen? Or do I need a real sunscreen on top of it? If so, any suggestions on which one?
Thanks!

When I was using those products, it was great as a sunscreen all on its own for me and I live in FL. You may want to do a search on the 302 thread, though, as there were some issues with using it that way. I can't remember if it was breakouts, or what but I remember Huber having something to say about it.

Thank you for your response,Rileygirl. It is encouraging to hear that it worked for you, especially after knowing that you live in FL. I have been using it for more than a month now and haven't got any break-outs yet. (Knock on wood.) So are you still using it as your sunscreen? Or have you moved on to something else? If so, may I ask why?

Hi, htian21. I don't use the ointment RX as my sunscreen any longer. I am still using the regular 302 SPF (it's the newest tinted version), and when it is extremely sunny I will apply the recovery minerals over that. I stopped using the ointment rx as a sunscreen due to things that were discussed on the thread, but I cannot remember exactly what the deal was with that!! I'll try to dig around and see if I can find where it was discussed and paste it here if I can find it! (I do not use any other 302 products other than the sunscreen as I was not having any results at 6 month mark.)

ETA: Htian21, this is the best I could find regarding the ointment rx. I think people (me and several others) were starting to break out and the consensus was that it was due to the ointment rx.

"The OINTMENT RX IS NOT A MOISTURIZER – ANYONE WHO IS USING IT THAT WAY IS ASKING FOR PROBLEMS. IT IS TO BE USED TO SPOT TREAT BREAKOUTS AND REDUCE INFLAMMATION -
I will not repeat this again. It is the 19,000 time I have said this. USE SPF-15 as a moisturizer if you want a zinc or mineral based moisturizing effect without problems.

This might be what you are looking for Riley; Boski wrote this on Fri Aug 07, 2009 1:59 pm on the "REVIEW 302 Skincare Part 1: Intro to a Non-Acid Regimen" thread.

I think we all misunderstood that the Ointment wasn't meant to be used as a moisturizer on a daily basis. I still use ORX "occasionally" on top of actives at night to help the efficacy of actives, but very lightly and mist afterwards. Oh, BTW, you can now get samples of certain products now. Ask your esthy which ones they have in sample size.

Thank you two for digging that information out for me. I will stop using it as the sunscreen. I may try the 302 spf30. Anyone had experience with it?
