Hello all,
I need some help please! I just found out that my mom is scheduled to get an Erbium Yag laser resurfacing treatment this coming Thursday (1/7). I don’t think the physician’s assistant told her anything about aftercare, and they only gave her an antibiotic and pain med prescription for before treatment. From my research, I think maybe she should have been prescribed some sort of antiviral to prevent herpes simplex, so I’m wondering about that.
I’m also concerned because I know from my reading about dermarolling that it’s better to feed the skin the proper nutrients – topically as well as from inside out – to promote optimum healing and collagen production. I’m thinking my mom should be taking supplements, such as A , C, maybe MSM, etc., and she should probably have appropriate nourishing creams to use post-procedure. I have a month’s worth of GNC ‘s hair, skin and nails supplements that I am planning to give her, but I’m curious about what supplements other people’s dermatologists have recommended for this procedure. The derm hasn’t given her any advice about this. I want to be armed with knowledge so she gets the most out of this procedure, since I’ve read less than stellar reviews about it. Then there’s also the risk of infection.
My question is this: for those that have had the Erbium Yag laser treatment: Can you share what your preparation and aftercare regimen was? What do you think helped your skin heal better after this procedure, and what would you do differently? Would appreciate any and all tips and feedback!
Thanks all!
