Hi!
For those of you who have used avocado oil successfully, what brands do you prefer? I was thinking of ordering some, but remember that when I bought a bottle it wasn't dark green, but light colored, and seemed to me to have no benefit.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi
I'm an oil junkie and avocado is one of my faves. I get mine from mountainroseherbs dot com. It is expeller pressed/unrefined, leaving it the dark green color that you are looking for. I get many of my oils from that website, as well as tea, and I have never been disappointed. Highly recommended! |

I love avocado oil. I have oily/sensitive skin and this oil is nice and light without being heavy, and doesn't clog up my pores. I think I bought mine at Fresh & Wild but can't remember the brandname, but the Mountain Rose Herbs company is good and has a big following with many people I speak with, so thats a good recommendation! |

I really like Primavera avocado oil - its organic, so it will cost a bit more than some other brands.
www.saffronrouge.com carries Primavera (along with a number of other organic brands!)
Cheers |

I just bought this oil today from GoW. I hope it is good. I read that the only difference between unrefined and refined is that refined is more for face lotions and serums in that it doesn't have the dark green colour and potent smell but still same effect as the unrefined. |

Yes, Primavera is brand I have...it is quite expensive in compare with other brands here on European market, but it is really best I found until now. Beautiful, dark green oil..I really enjoy to use it |

The bottle i bought was 250ml.....this has lasted me ages. It may be better to buy the oil in smaller bottles. Im unsure how long the oil lasts before it oxidises and becomes harmful to skin..... maybe somebody else can help? |

I've bought avocado oil a few times from mountainroseherbs. Never bought elsewhere, so can't compare, but the mountainroseherbs version is definitely dark green.
And customer service is good - had a small problem on one order and they sorted it out very professionally. |

Hi Avalange - Maybe Iherb.com - good selection of vitamins and that cleansing cream you recommended on another thread - also at a good price. They may have an avocado oil you like for a future oil combined with other purchases. |

Olivado makes an excellent, cold-pressed, dark green, food-grade avocado oil. I order mine from the company Natural Zing:

when I place my orders for food. I really love the Olivado brand, and I think you can even get it from Amazon. |

I received my bottle and it's not dark green (or even green) at all--should I get a different product, or use it anyways?
please help!

If it's cold pressed and virgin it will be green... If it's a clear color, that means all the goodie's have been stipped away...
You might want to check out your local supermarket in the 'greenwise' section. It's the best I've found, and the real deal. |

Garden of Wisdom sells samples if you want to try them first before purchasing full size
Make sure you look for "Cold Pressed" when buying any oils |

Nature's Alchemy. It's probably not a good brand, but it does say virgin, expeller pressed, cosmetic grade, etc.
