I have a question for those who have used Retin A and hydroquinone 4% before... I was wondering if you could give me some advice and share your experience using the two products.

First, when I apply the Retin A at night how long should I wait before applying the hydroquinone?

Secondly, in the morning when I apply my hydroquinone how long should I wait before applying my moisturizer and sunscreen?

Thanks ahead of time for all your help ladies!

It depends on the form your HQ is in. Mine comes in a gel, so I put it on first and wait until it's absorbed (a minute or so), then layer my Tazorac on top because it's a cream. If your HQ is in cream form, I don't think it makes much difference how long you wait to apply it after putting on your retinoid.

As for whether you can use either or both around your eyes, it probably depends on your particular skin and needs. I never use strong actives around my eyes because the skin around them is dry and sensitive and I don't want to aggravate it. I would do a patch test with one product first for a week or so, then add the other and test for another week. Then you'll know if your skin can handle it.
