I have looked thru the stores, internet & ordered many things claiming they hydrate but some end up just laying on my face leaving dried cream blotches. Does anyone know of a good night cream to help with hydration & dry aging skin?? I have tried some expensive brand(lancome,SkinMedica) & store brand(Oil of Olay all creams,which do NOT work), the only thing that seems to stay moist on my face is "Ponds" for dry skin can you believe it! & it's so cheap but it does Not have any vitamins or anti-aging corrective ingredients, in the long run it's probably not good. I did recently order a product that is pure Hyarulonic Acid, which I heard is awesome but I haven't received it yet, anyone used Hyarulonic Acid on their face??
Thanks |

Hi & welcome to the forum!
Nanci at NCN Pro Skincare has a fabulous moisturizer that I think you'll love;
Bio-Active Night Repair Cream
http://www.ncnproskincare.com/skin-care-products/moisturizer/bio-active-night-repair-cream.html
It's rich, moisturizing, and packed with nourishing ingredients, the fragrance is fantastic also.
Nanci suggests adding a bit of water to a pat of it in your hand to thin it for daytime use... But their's a 'daytime' lighter version available also..
It's very affordable also, 2oz for $38.00
Here's the ingredient list;
Ingredients: Aloe Vera Gel, Safflower Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Sorbitan Trioleate, Cetyl Alcohol, Sweet Kernel Oil, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Beeswax, Squalane, Stearic Acid, Peach Kernel Oil, Ginseng Extract, Avocado Oil, Hazelnut Oil, Soy Milk Protein, Lactic Acid, Corn Extract, Carrot Oil, Sea Buckthorn Oil, Retinyl Palmitate and Tocophyrol and Ascorbyl Palmitate and Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Lecithin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cholecalciferol, Glycosaminoglycans, Phenoxyethanol, Mango Butter, Almond Butter, Silk Amino Acid, Guar Gum, Fragrant Oil, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid. |

Y'know, the best thing I've found so far is plain old Palmers cocoa butter in a tub, and overnight I use Aquaphor. The Aquaphor feels very sticky and uncomfortable, but it does a damn good job! Cocoa butter during the day leaves me a bit greasy after a few hours, but nothing one of my trusty oil absorbing sheets and a touch up of face powder won't fix.
Until I find that holy grail of moisturizer these cons are worth the pros for me. |

i have extremely dry skin, and have used many department and drug store products... the thing that has worked wonders for me is the valmont soothing cream dermo. its simple, with a matte finish, and will give you all day hydration and gentle relief. its stays fresh ALL day. after a few days of use, i noticed the difference! highly recommend. |

GGT, I think an Elizabeth Grant serum would fill the bill just nicely. Check it out. |

1) If moisturizers are just laying on your face you may need exfoliation to get rid of built up
dead skin cells, they do inhibit your products from working!
2) you need a humectant not just oil, oil
alone isn't a moisturizer!
3) without other moisturizing ingredients HA alone can dry your skin by pulling moisture from the skin, unless you are in major humidity don't use it alone!
4) you don't need to spend a fortune for a decent moisturizer, read the ingredients
5) EG-Hate it, sorry over priced and a lot of hype!
IMHO

Hi there.
I suffered from dehydrated skin too especially during the fasting month. Last year in particular my condition became so bad that I was desperate to resort to anything to make my skin better.
Then a friend recommended Elizabth Arden's 8 hour cream. I was pretty sceptical but like I said .. I was desperate! So I tried Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream and the 8 hour lip protectant. After several days, my skin became better.
My aweful chapped lips eventually became smoother and a lot softer.
I've stopped using the cream and am back to my normal skincare. But I havent stopped using the Lip Protectant. It worked wonders for me.
Hope this helps you. |

I found most products that claim to "hydrate" actually have very little lasting power. They seem to work on the surface only momentarily.
I now stick with thinks that "regenerate", like the valmont Bio Regenetic (serum) and Regenera (cream). My skin seems to be plumped up from "within" and the skin is just healthier. Healthier skin holds moisture!
Please try and let me know. |

hey arielstar,
i have all the valmont serums, but in particular, i find the dna repair and dermatosic serum very helpful for repair. but of course, this is because i have very dry and sensitive skin.
i've been using the serums and mainly the dermo cream for a few weeks and my skin is so much healthier. now, my skin can benefit from the valmont intensive line (wrinkles) without irritation.
if ever you get a chance or need to, try the dermo soothing cream. it is only for hydration but it is gentle and extremely effective. |
