Hi, I'm a 19 year old female with fairly dry and moderate acne-prone skin a difficult type to find the right product. I'm looking at the Dermalogica, Md Formulations, Murad and Dr Hauschka ranges. My major problem is that acne-focused roducts are too harsh on my skin and dry-skin products to mild to help acne.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |

hi mailnat
Dermalogica is the first thing i ever used to successfully control my acne at your age (im 22 now). Id definetly look at getting Medicated Clearing Gel but im not sure if their acne cleanser would be for you, if you have dry skin, because although this did work well for me i found it did dry my normal areas.
Also make sure that youve got a good regime going. Cleanse, tone, exfoliate, moisturise, special treatments. Their Gentle Cream Exfoliant I wouldnt never be without and I think this is definetly a good one to go for. Before splurging why not pop to your local Dermalogica salon and get some samples, this way you can be absolutely sure before committing to the pricy full sizes.
If it also helps im also using Sircuit X-Zit which is one of the best spot treatments around. It can be found at their webiste, and you can try a sample first so you dont have to worry. Their full size stuff is pricy though.
Hope that helps, and if you need any more advice then just pop me a pm.
Best wishes

From Dermalogica I would definitely go with the Medicated Clearing Gel. However, if your heart's not set on those brands, I would suggest YonKa Juvenil and YonKa Creme15. They have worked very well for some here (I also use Juvenil on breakouts) and both products are plant based, very gentle and non-drying. HTH. |

You could also look into purple emu blemish control. This has really cleared my sprog's skin up though she does get the odd breakout. she needs a moisturiser over it though and uses my pure emu oil

Hi, I've visited a Dermalogica beauty therapist and she reccommended the special cleansing gel, daily microfoliant, skin smoothing cream for night and active moist for day. I 've tried some samples and products seem ok not sure about a gel cleanser but i'll see how it goes I think I'll try Md formulkations GA cleanser and yonka gel on the side too though! |
