Very good - May have to get one of those balls for the homestead and dig up my FE book! Just did a nice round of FE this morning followed by Tanaka but I don't know the neck exercises by heart. The rest of them I could do in my sleep
That is so true about posture.
ClaudiaFE wrote: |
Sister... The Neck exercises are a must... they address not only the appearance of the skin (sag and such) but your posture. Improved posture makes a huge diff. as well... (when you think old lady... how does she hold her head, neck... HUNCHED???)
I thought the ball was a wickedly awesome Idea too! It will really help open up the chest (stretching)
I know it's an extreme but go look at MEN's body building magazines. Where they OVERDO the neck... see if you can identify sag... that's all muscle baby!
Keep it toned dowd (from the men's perspective) and maintain grace... Like a ballet dancer... |

Wow, she looks wonderful! The before and after pictures were striking. She really does look younger in the after.
Question for Claudia. I currently do alot of my facial exercises when I am on my slant board. Could I be able to do the Flexeffect on the slant board once I memorize the exercises? Thank you. |

Sister... before you add the ball, make sure your neck strength is up to par on a flat surface like a bed. (excess stress without the muscle strength to support it can make for a SORE neck...which is a set up for an injury...OUCH)
Swiss... as long as you can fully do the exercises, YES, you can do them pretty much whereever you like. (Deb used to do her whole routine while on a stationary bike... 2 birds!)
The ONLY place I don't recommend is the car or out in public. Not for the looks of horror that you would recieve, but rather the collection of germs that you might pick up and spread all over your face. I don't think many people realize how germy their steering wheels are! After all that we touch out in public... |

I am certainly a believer in the benefits of facial exercise (the results in the many B and A's that I have seen are more than convincing to me, LaLa's photos certainly among them.) but I just haven't been able to stay motivated enough to stick with it. I guess that I just haven't gotten into the groove with it and found a way to enjoy the process. (I am reluctant body exerciser as well so I guess there really is a parallel). This reminds me.....I have started really trying to be good about washing my hands or using antibacterial hand sanitizer before I touch my face...but the bitter taste in the gels is a real deterrent to sticking my fingers in my mouth a la Flex Effect. I know that bittering agent is usually put in there to deter children from swallowing it but, by chance, does anyone happen to know of a brand of hand sanitizer that doesn't contain the bittering agent? |

Bren... allow me to make another suggestion...
Do any exercises that involve fingers in the mouth IN THE SHOWER... nice clean hands... no ick taste (obviously, you will have to know how to do them...)
And just take care with all those soaps... My hands look like poo for all the hand washing!!! |

Hi Toot's, I just caught your post before getting out of here..
My date with Audrea and Deb went well on Sunday, and I'm meeting them again tonight.. This in itself is a miracle of sorts, because I'm actually looking forward to it, instead of dreading it as was the case previously.
For some strange reason, when I view this DVD, it's like a one on one experience that I never noticed before in either the previous FE edition, or other videos/DVD's on the subject... I love that Deb is narrating, while Audrea is doing the exercises. Then Deb does a really nice job with the rest of the program details. The close up view throughout the DVD is outstanding for really letting the viewer see the circulation that these measures are bringing to the skin.
You'll probably think what I'm going to say now is silly, but what the hell, I'm saying it anyway... It's just a happy DVD to watch, and somehow the personalities of Audrea + Deb come shining through. It's so nice to see real people with genuine smiles, who don't seem to be thinking at all about camera's and lightening etc.. but are just doing their damnedest, to make the experience easily understandable for all... I love this freaking DVD better each time I watch it!
Yep, I'm motivated... ... Will I do each and every exercise every day, hell no. But I will do *many* of these exercises, and all of the massaging and skin stretching. My goal is a thorough workout 2 or 3 times a week for now as time permits.
Did I say I love this DVD? Maybe I should put it this way... I am a visual learner 1st and foremost, and the DVD alone is worth the price I paid to me. Without it, the book would have been left on my nightstand untouched, but with it, the book now makes perfect sense..
Will this program be for everybody, probably not. Will some people get it and say; why did Kassy brag so much, it ain't all that, probably so. Will others say, damn that Kassy was right again, probably so ( ) Will folks that already have FE 2nd Edition, CM or Ageless still benefit from this, yes because it's much more comprehensive, and has the addition of all the new jolting/massage/skin stretching material. Will there be more lover's than hater's.... absofreakinglutely!
Anyway, I believe there's a 30 day money back guarantee (minus shipping I think) for anybody that finds it's not for them, so nothing to lose for those on the fence.. To me it was well worth the investment. (And that's coming from someone who has never really been a fan of facial exercise programs, because of sheer laziness.. )
Disclaimer: The only thing I have to gain from my mini review of FE 3rd Edition, is an even nicer skin and foundation than I'm enjoying now.. |

Kassy... and all...
Make sure you take time/days off between jolting and cross stretching... the idea for these in particular is that you allow "healing" time! Re-read to make more clear!!!
LOL... Yeah... Deb and Audrea aren't actor/actresses... every now and then you catch an expression of "wasn't that pretty???" NOT! LOL!
Keep us posted... TAKE NOTES!!!!!! Just fill in your log... it will tell your story in the end... also will help us answer your questions in the future... and if something seems WONKY ASK AWAY! Don't assume that wonky is a "phase" to go through... it might be.. but it might NOT be...
Best... |

Oh Kassy it thrills me that you are having a good experience with the new edition of the flexeffect program. You were honest several years ago with your frustration of there not being a dvd with all the exercises on it. You were vocal about the need for visual learners (I happen to be one too!)....you probably spoke for a lot of people. Apparently your voice was heard and Deb went to work creating. It took time but the result is well worth it.Your review speaks volumes because it had to be good to win you over! I bet your face is gonna LOVE you for it and you are going to reap the benefits...One hot diva with your light and now flexing....go girl go
Oh heck I am just going to boogie dance for you and everyone else that is enjoying this new edition! |

When I 1st heard Deb saying to leave a good day off between the cross stretching routine, I thought to myself; naaa, it's not all that intense that I can't be a bit more aggressive... Lesson learned; it IS intense, especially when done at the end of the whole routine.
Here's one thing I noted that I can share with others, and it's in regard to the crazy circulation this routine is bringing to my face... Many know that I am a big fan of the Vaculifter, and have been using it for more than a year. Well at this point in time when I use the V, I seldom see more than a tiny bit of 'pinkness' in my skin anymore, and even when I do it's gone within a minute or so. Well after my 1st FE routine which included horizontal cross stretching, my entire face, neck and chest was as flushed as all get out, and with a healthy glow to boot. I didn't see/feel any other signs of *stress* at all, but think that had to do with my skin being in a healthy state to begin with.
I'm all about the benefits of increasing the circulation, and this program fits the bill and then some.
I honest to God never thought I'd see the day that I would be this motivated to do a facial exercise program.
Thanks for the "boogie dancers" Toby... |

Dang - I never thought I'd see the day Kassy would be motivated to Facial exercise either. So Kassy - tell me please! How long does the cross stretching take? Love the idea of the blood flow-pink glow. Sounds like good stuff!!!!!! |

Ooh, the shower is a much better idea. Now I just have to learn the finger-in-mouth exercises well enough to do them without materials in front of me. Then again, I do LOVE to laminate things so maybe I can rig a little cheat sheet!! |

Hahahaha...Kassy... you're crackin' me up!
TAKE THE BREAK... IT'S CRUCIAL! Otherwise you won't get all the benefit...
It was after a really intense cross stretching, jolting, and massage session with my sister (we were going over styles and such...) that I went to visit a girlfriend after... maybe 45 minutes after we were done... I walked through her front door... no make up... and before I could get my hello's out... "What did you do to your face? You look so refreshed..."
Have a I already told this story a million times... It really stuck with me, 'cause I hadn't told any of my friends about the new stuff yet... and OMG... when I showed her how to do it... her jaw hit the floor... See, even some of my friends are afraid to touch their face... but they all come around...LOL!
Sister... a few minutes to do a cross stretching run... And then every couple of days... This is NOT a daily drill!!! |

You KNOW WHAT? USE your book... I haven't even gone over this yet, on my own site, but I'm sittin' here thinking about the write up... as you LEARN your face muscles, how they work and where they are (the diagrams help with this...) USE the book like anatomy students do. Have you seen anatomy coloring books?
Color code the muscles, and color the diagrams. Just the effort to put all of that to memory will help you visualize and feel the muscles, when some of them are quite hard to feel in the first place... |

I have a few facial anatomy books lying around - collecting dust. Also a few workbooks that haven't been colored - :lol time for crayons. |

Hi everyone. I'm new here, but really enjoying reading all this great stuff! Kassy, that was a great review, thanks for sharing. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy the 3rd edition of Flex Effect. Not only for the exercises, I'm also interested in the pressure massage, bone remodeling and cross stretching. |

Yep, gotta go with Toby here. Lots of good lower face exercises. It's all a balance. I certainly believe in keeping the cheeks UP UP UP but you need the lower face keeping pace! |

I ordered mine and look forward to getting it. If this program doesn't get and keep me motivated, I can't imagine what will.
Many have mentioned trying to get rid of the gaunt, pulled in cheeks that they have (either naturally or from other programs) and I think I am the opposite. I am at a normal body weight but I think my face looks too full and lacks definition in my whole cheek area, from undereye to my jawline. I pray that I can get some contouring from this program! |

Claudia I appreciate the cautionary note. I use a ball alot for crunches and other ab stuff, arm exercises and whatever else I remember at the time and do neck raises (something I read on here) on a mat. The ball can be a BIG workout and I'm sure for the neck it can be awesome as long as your ready. If I'm not, I'm close - I'll make sure Thanks. |
