I had done some research a few weeks ago on other skin care sites and it said that taking Glutathione reduces sun spots and makes the skin whiter. Apparently Beyonce and all the stars use it to make their skin better.
Have you heard of this?

| I believe the glutathione supplements are popular in Japan and there are also whitening injections with glutathione for faster effect. Presumably they work or there wouldn't be a market for them. However, my impression from reading is that their effects are temporary and you would have to continue consuming/injecting to maintain the effects. |

I have started to take glutathione.
I want less pigmentation!
How much am I supposed to take? I am taking 250 mg right now.
Anyone tried this? Results? |

| I have actually received 3 glutathione injections (with a bunch of other supplements) at two week intervals since early January and my next appointment is next week. I will have 6 total as part of a treatment plan for an adrenal insufficiency I have. I have noticed none of these lightening effects as of yet and in fact, just yesterday I thought that some of my pigmentation might be getting darker. I don't think this is a valid claim unless it takes an extraordinary amount along with a great deal of time to accomplish this result. HTH. |

This is awful news. Should I stop taking glutathione? I just started! Everyone says it's this master antioxidant.

I honestly know very little about it, but I doubt it has made any of my pigmentation darker. I think that's just a coincidence. My point was that it definitely hasn't made anything lighter.  |

Glutathione is probably not well absorbed into the body when taken by mouth. One way to get around that is to take it by vein. A more practical solution is to take the precursors -- that is, the molecules the body needs to make glutathione -- rather than glutathione itself. While there is no solid proof this works, the consensus among experts is that that doing so will increase the amount of glutathione in the cells.
Bounous has developed a glutathione-enhancing product called Immunocal, which is made up of glutathione precursors, mainly the amino acid cysteine. |

Thanks for the info DM. I should clarify that I am taking it by vein, not through an intramuscular injection. It is added to my IV treatment at the end and unfortunately it burns like crazy! I just hope it's doing something good for me!  |

Sorry to hear it burns! On the link there is quite a bit more information about many things it is used for intravenously, so I surely hope it helps you! 
I just posted that part so everyone thinking of taking an oral supplement knew what to look for!
