I use Nancy's Rhassoul Bar... with and without my clarisonic.
http://www.ncnproskincare.com/virtuemart/468.html
If you decide to get that... slice it in 1/4" pcs. It will last FOREVER!
Looks like she added a type of sonic brush to her line... very cool! |

I used the cleansers that Clarisonic included as samples with mine, and I really liked them. When I ran out, I just use my reglar old cleanser from MD Forte. I hope you enjoy your Claisonic - I really love mine:) |

I bought the Kate Sommerville kit a few years ago and used the Gentle and the Detox cleansers.I've also used Purity made simple. Currently I use DDF Sensitive skin gel cleanser. but I think as long as what you use is slippery and doesn't have any roughness to it you should be fine. I know some also use Cetaphil. |

I've used the Purity cleanser and Cetaphil - they both worked with the Clarisonic but I didn't like them.
I'm now using an oil based cleanser - Dr. Weil's Plantidote from Origins that I really like (with or without the Clarisonic). I even like coconut oil with it!
I always clean my face of all makeup before using it and then (as someone said) use something with slip that I really like for my skin type (mature and sensitive).

Zoftig... do you use just the coconut oil?
I hadn't thought of using oils (alone) with the brush... I might try that... |

Yep, a good sized gob of it. I've used the Clarisonic for awhile and my skin is comfortable with the brush. Might not be the best choice for a brand new user tho. |

That's really interesting, I didn't think you could use it that way! I have been a bit in the fence about buying one, but that sounds like super powered OCM! I just didn't ever think of that possibility! Thanks

I know you'll research this first. I haven't followed the OCM thread but maybe someone there can give you advice. I just used the coconut oil because I thought it was a good idea....and you know how that might possibly go for someone else. Hence, the caution. |

Ok.. so I tried it! With about 2x's as much oil as I would use to get the face slick...
I actually dampened the brush, and then went for it. Had to re wet the brush to keep it from dragging on the skin. Perhaps more oil? But then that seems like a waste of oil (????)
Used a hot rag to wipe off residue... Feels nice. Obviously, one time through doesn't really indicate anything. But nothing bothersome to prevent me from trying again...
If there are any OCM pros out there that would like to comment... let me know! |

I'm not an OCM pro I just have used the method for years. I don't own a clairsonic yet so I am
not sure how to compare the 2, with OCM it's really important to remove all the oil as it has dirt, dead skin cells and sebum plugs, this is done with hot cloths until the skin is free of all the oil!
I have to wonder 2 things here, is it too much for the skin, and does this effect the clairsonic? I am just throwing my thoughts out here because I don't have the answers!

Potentially TOO much... either I would have needed even MORE oil, or dampened the brush (which is what I did)... Just to keep the brush moving and not SCRAPING the skin.
It might muck up the brush faster. But it won't effect the unit at all... |

Yeah, With OCM you are massaging with the oil and your hands, I have a different microdermabrasion hand held and it uses a very dense sponge head with a cream containing rounded beads, I wouldn't use oil with it as it would drink in all the oil!
As I said I haven't sunk the money into the clairsonic yet so I can't really say one way or another, but you have to get all the oil off both your skin and your brush head.

Hi Rileygirl,
Hope you enjoy your Mia! I know you were on the fence about it for awhile. I think any cleanser that you prefer will be fine as long as it isn't "gritty." I think a previous poster mentioned this as well. I originally used the Obagi cleanser with my Clarisonic and now I use one by L'Occitane. With this device, a little goes a long way! |

Thanks, kims! I am anxiously awaiting it! I actually am trying to find a cleanser right now that I like, but I am also trying to use up all these products that I have. |

I really like this cleanser when I use one instead of just OCM, I will use this when I can finally splurge on the clairsonic!
it is a much better value than 4 oz for 21.50!

I use OCM - so when I bought the Clarisonic I was a bit confused about how I was going to use it. My thoughts were that if I used it with the oil, the oil might occlude the sonic waves - I have no idea if it will but this was what was going through my mind.
Anyway, in the evening I just go through my OCM routine as per usual and wipe the bulk of the oil off with a wash cloth. Then I use the Clarisonic afterwards just with water. In the morning I omit OCM and just use the Clarisonic and water again. |

I second Nancy's Rhassoul Bar and Claudia's tip about slicing into little chunks is soo true it does make it last a long time. My other all time favourite cleanser to use is Gentle Clear from Skin Bio. I've used both the bar and the liquid, and the liquid is my favourite. There's something about the smell that really gets me thinking its doing a good job and it really cleanses my pores with the clarisonic nicely. |
