ok
I'm posting this for someone.
She is in her 50s and she is looking for few things to help her skin look better things like Anti-wrinkle, smoother skin, removing dark circles and removing spots on the skin. (Face, hands, neck). Skin type is sensitive with dry skin.
She isn't looking for something to do wonders, just something that works and does a good job.
I have been reading and searching topics but haven't been able to find anything. Except Vitamin C cream and retinol, which combination of things would you recommend going with to get started. I have also been looking at TNS Essential Serum & Dermalogica multivitamin thermafoliant.
Thanks |

Hey there Classic and welcome!
I think the gold standard in skin care is of course using sunscreen on a 365 basis, a good Vit C serum and tried and true retin-a. Seeing your friend is a bit on the sensitive side, I would start out on a good retinol cream before starting a retin-a product. Green Cream is what I is what I began with and that really did a lot for my skin...it comes in 3 levels: Levels 3, 6 and 9 so have her begin with the 3 and work her way up to using the 9...some cannot tolerate the 9 and like myself, I only went to the level 6 before switching to retin-a .05%...
Of course, a good moisturizer for her type of skin is necessary as well and there are many, many to choose from...seeing her and I have somewhat of the same type skin (mine is dry with a little sensitivity at times) I use a great MSM cream called Born Again MSM and Vit E cream...it's very thick, not greasy nor does it leave a film or shine and feels great on my dry skin....I love it...another perk, it's cheap and found at most health food stores or on line
Treating your skin from the outside in I also recommend....taking an MSM and hyaluronic acid supplement has done wonders for me and also trying to eat lots of fruits veges and supplementing omega's is not only good for your skin, but your hair as well...it is my opinion that eating a balanced healthy diet with supplementation is the most important part of any skincare regime....
There is so much more your friend can do and I am sure you'll get many suggestions here at EDS....we have a great bunch of guys and gals here |

I agree with Bren on the Vit C serum and Retin A, and use of a good sunscreen religously! |
