Steep some chammomile tea bags and put them in a baggie in the fridge until cold and place over eyes for about 15 minutes. Other than that, I think your eyes look just fine to me. There is no lotion or serum that will bring the puffiness down. Only an emollient moisturizer will make the skin around the eye area look good...temporarily. |

I use Easy Eye Solutions and it completely takes my puffy eye bags away. I tried everything on the market until finding this a year ago. This is the thread and I emailed by pictures to you. http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=32702&highlight=easy+eye+solutions |

Hi - Shelly my first thought was the same as Toby said. I think this might work really great for you. Please let us know. |

Hi there Shelly. I will pipe in and wholeheartedly agree with Toby and Sis...you look like a great candidate for Easy Eye. Hop on over to the EES thread and have a look around. |

Thanks for being brave and posting a pic Shelly The above posts sound like the solution you're looking for, but just as a side point a lot of people get puffiness from applying eye cream too close to the eye - this might not apply to you but I thought it was worth a mention.
The general rule is an amount about the size of a grain of rice, applied with your ring fingers around the orbital bone. Too much product placed too close to the eye can cause the undereye area to puff up (unless it's a specific non-migrating product).
Good luck and we'd love to hear how you get on. Becks x |

Shelley,
Just brainstorming, I'd also be curious to know what your sleep was like (whether you wake feeling refreshed, are sleeping well), and your fluid intake (as it looks to me like there is fluid here and this is perhaps a result of a lymph thats not working at optimal levels perhaps I'd guess), and whether you know if your parents had similar eye issues now (or in their youth). I do think there are things you can do though for sure.

In addition to Sean's question, I would ask about your diet/nutrition? Dark circles can a lot of time be attributed to poor nutrition and lack of nutrients. |

Thanks so much for your responses and questions I would say this seems to be hereditary, as my mom's eyes are also very puffy. This happens whether I have slept soundly 8 hours or interrupted for 6 hours I have IBS, so my nutrition is not the best since many foods cause my stomach distress. Many veggies that I enjoy have too much insoluble fiber and kill my stomach. I am also awful about water intake, but I am trying to get better about that I will probably order the eye stuff Toby mentioned, for my Birthday in May and I will definitely let you know. Once again thanks so much. Maybe in the future my eyes won't look like I was," rode hard and put of wet" to be blunt |

Shelly...I have been plagued with IBS all my life....but it is now at a stage that it hardly causes me any problems. This has been since introducing MSM as a supplement. There is an MSM thread on here. I will say that initially it made it a little worse but then settled it.
If you want to know more pls ask.

Shelly, I'll chime in as well on this. My undereye area looks very much like yours. It's completely hereditary. In past threads where I've whined about this, I've noted that even the children - nieces, nephews, cousins - have this same trait. Thankfully, my son has escaped it! Those of us who do have it seem to have high cheekbones, and then this sunken area right above that tends to look dark &/or puffy as well.
I have been terrible about posting my results using EES since last April - and I will, very soon, on that thread! But I just had to respond to your post, seeing undereyes just like mine! Mind you, I'll be 51 in a few weeks, so I've got a few tiny wrinkles as well. But EES has helped my undereye area immensely. It's not perfect, but so so much better. The puffiness virtually disappears when I apply EES. I absolutely must wear some camouflage during the day, I have that darkness. My skin is very pinky-pale, and veins show through in that area as well. So I can't go without concealer there during the day. I really had to play around a bit, several weeks, to get my application down. When you use EES, expect the same. But it's so worth it!
At this point, I use EES on my whole undereye area at night. During the day, I use it on the outer two-thirds of the area, where I don't use concealer. It's not needed there anymore so much for puffiness; I use it to make my tiny wrinkles vanish. I make my night application a little heavier. It's my puff preventative!
Hope this helps, and hope you are able to try EES soon. |

Hi Shelly: I use to suffer from severe IBS symptoms and now it is non existent. I started taking whole leaf organic Aloe Vera juice from Vitacost. I take only 1 1/2 Tablespoon everyday by mixing it with a fruit juice of my choice. I also added Activa yogurt to my diet. I love MSM for skin and hair but for some reason it can be hard on my stomach at times. |

Starlight...how does it taste? I remember it being hard to swallow? Not that much could be worse than my MSM/Vit C combo....
