Dear all,
Does anybody knows of an efficient cure for spider veins?
Thank you very much! |

Topicals dont work. Laser is your best bet. But it doesn't always work. |

If you mean the ones on your legs then only schlero will fix them. |

I get schlerotherapy every few years because it costs the same whether it's one vein or dozens of them. You pay for the visit and also for the special stockings, which are expensive. Find out ahead of time which ones to buy and buy them online. Cheaper than from the doctor. |

Please tell me what is involved with schlerotherapy: down time, pain, what do you have to do to prepare for it. Thanks! |

Starlight there really is no preparation required for schlero. They inject the vein with a solution with a tiny needle, not too painful at all. You wear a support stocking for a week or two depending on the size of the veins injected. No downtime at all. Walk in walk out. |

Is this permanent or do you have to go back every so often. If you do not mind can you tell me the cost. |

It's permanent but if you are genetically predisposed to getting spider veins, they will pop out somewhere else. Mine cost $300 per session, regardless of number of veins. Buy the compression stockings online because they are cheaper but make sure you buy the right ones. Ask the doctor. You will need to bring them with you to the appointment and put them on immediately after the procedure to keep the veins closed up. Otherwise, the veins might open up again and you've wasted your money. You have to wear them to bed the first couple of nights, so buy two pairs so you can wash one while you are wearing the other. |
