I always see this ingredient in some skincare products. It says it's a Botox alternative. It relaxes facial muscles so the wrinkle is not as prominent. But there's a controversy saying long term use might cause sagging or drooping of the face.
I seen a product recently saying this main ingredient can tighten your chewing muscles, therefore making your face smaller. I'm kinda confused here as this ingredient is supposed to relax your facial muscle but now this product says to tighten. |

I've seen the same thing and to be honest, I wouldn't take that chance. I only use ingredients that I know are safe or for the most part, safe. |

I heard if that ingredient is applied to s specific area, then it's fine such as around the eyes? |

I don't care what they say in their promotional blurb - no topical is ever going to replicate the effects of Botox IMHO. |

I use Zia's Ultimate Day Repair, which has argeline as a main ingredient. It does not reduce wrinkles or tighten skin (though I don't have big problems with either wrinkles or loose skin). I doubt a topical cream can have the same effects as Botox.
The Zia stuff does make my skin look refreshed and glowy, though, and it seems to help fade hyperpigmentation marks more quickly. |

I use AlphaDerma CE which has argireline in it. It doesn't give a freeze effect. The results are subtle but noticable to me; softening of forehead lines and 11's. |

I've had good results, similar to those of brierrose, with Cellular Skin Rx's Relax-a-Line. Naturally, these topicals aren't going to have either the strength or full effect of Botox itself, but they're a cheaper alternative and can result in a diminishment in the appearance of lines. |
