Hi everyone,
I have red skin on my collerbone and neck area. And I can't figure out why. Neither can doctors. Steroid cream doesn't work. It's not hives. The area isn't itchy. The skin is smooth. It's not rosacea. It doesn't seem like eczema. It's not dry and I keep it well moisturized. I don't use perfumes. I use mild, mild soap (no scent) and mild moisturizer. The rash comes and goes.
Has anyone else had this problem? And what could possibly help it?
Thanks in advance! |

I developed what looks like red rashy areas on my neck and chest and the derm said it's sun damage. Could that be it you think?
Your best bet is to see a derm for his/her opinion. |

It definitely could be sun damage. But it comes and goes, which is weird.
I'm seeing a dermatologist on Tuesday. Out of curiosity, what did yours recommend to take away the redness? Thanks! |

My chest area is also often red -- much more of a reddish tone than my face. I also have a lot of hyperpigmentation so I've always assumed the redness was from sun damage as well.
It'll be interesting to see what your derm says and what they tell you to do about it. Please report back! |

Could it be due to nerves/stress?
Could it be Poikiloderma of Civatte?

I know it's not Poikiloderma of Civatte because the skin is very smooth. It's also not itchy, which is SO strange.
I really hope I can get rid of it somehow and that the dermatologist will have answers. I'm tired of being told "you just have a red chest." It just doesn't seem right. And it's really lowering my self esteem... |

Hi radiogal. My derm said IPL or laser. I've had IPL and it didn't make an improvement, so I'm going to see about the v beam laser next. But I can't get in till may. |
