i know one is physical one is chemical
but i saw a chart just now, seems zin block almost all waves while Mexoryl S or XL only block part.
i used to think Mexoryl is the best when it comes to block UVA
is zinc better? |

Hi hellenzqq
Do you have a link to the chart you saw? Just curious.
Mexoryl SX and XL each on their own filters out certain wavelengths. They are normally used together for a synergistic effect on protection.
Both the mexoryls and zinc oxide are broad spectrum filters. My understanding is that with the mexoryls, there are peaks of protection from certain wavelengths. While zinc oxide provides a more uniform protection across the wavelengths.
Or, that could be a time line chart you saw? |
