for sure angel,
i agree and i do wear sunscreen... though i love the feeling of warm sun rays kissing my face.
but i have noticed that 'scrunching' up my face is not doing wonders for my wrinkles. |

No BabyDoll I agree it isn't good for our faces, just saying alot of things seem to work against us when it comes to keeping those lines off our faces! |

I do an exercise program for the face, and they say in there that its not the movement itself that causes the wrinkles, but the fact that the skin is low in healthy things like elastin etc. They put a good argument forward that when you see babies and children making faces etc they wrinkles, but then their skin snaps back. When you compare that to a 55+ year old smoker like myself who used to spread olive oil to tan back in the 70's and 80's and is now dealing with lots of wrinkles I'm guessing they got a point.
With sun damage though, my derm tells me that most of the sun damage we acquire in our lives is between the ages of 14-22, and that takes some twenty years to start showing up at the surface of the skin (and things slow down as you get older - take it from a woman who knosw!!) so maybe its a combo of all those things. I do know that since using my own Vit C serum (thanks to Kassy),my skin is really changing for the better!

i think the facial movements matter the most,my eyes have some wrinkles because of that. |
movement, like stress ... when you frown, concentrate and tense up your eyebrows... and squint when puzzled.
yes, i have a very expressive face, and have noticed that when being too expressive, it leaves consequences on my face. serenity of mind and body are key, me thinks! |

I think facial movements definitely put a lot of stress on your skin, and over time, the muscles strengthen, and the wrinkles become permanent. The good news is botox can relax the muscles and get you to stop making so many movements and expressions. The sun is harder to control. I don't know if there's a 100% effective sunblock, and you have to keep reapplying. The sun damages your skin from the inside out, and it's hard to correct, and most often it just comes back after a while. |

I have to agree about facial movements if our expressions didn't cause wrinkles we wouldn't have everyone trying to get rid of those 11's and crows feet ect. Squinting and blinking cause those along with smiling! We call the NL's laugh lines for a reason!

definitely sun and movements contribute to wrinkles, now a huge problem, deep wrinkls under eye and eye tail, thought maybe go back to HR collagne eye cream, but not sure if it's same quality after merged by EL EL anr doesn't work very well with deep wrinkles |

But the argument with facial exercises is that just moving your face doesn't actually strengthen the muscles as there is no resistance, so what happens is that the tissue on top of the muscles get damaged and thats how the lines set in.
I know what you mean though, the wrinkles do come in places that seem to make the expression, but I do wonder whether its because the skin is damaged that they stay so long as kiddies don’t get wrinkles (but they make the same expression) so how comes they take so long to show up. I saw one argument that although botox paralyses the muscles, it can make them age faster because they become unused (and I don’t want that happening) so whats a woman to do?
