Do you have to be in the medical field to administer Botox and filler? How does one get trained to do this? |

Wouldn't that be great if we could learn to do this ourselves? Then again, I wouldn't want to be my own guinea pig. I'd rather have someone experiment on other people first, then inject me when they knew what they were doing. We pay for that expertise. |

I believe that most people that do this are either doctors or RNs that have extensive training in injections. There is a huge learning curve associated with it and not everyone who does it is good at it. Forums that talk about these things always tell you the most important thing is to find a good 'injector'. |

i though i read somewhere in the EDS threads... that a few members actually buy this online and inject themselves. i believe they were the more experienced members here... was it in dermarolling, or led anti aging lights, or the lumigan thread.
i'm sure i read this somewhere on this forum. |

Yes...I remember reading in one of the threads about a member (who I think happened to be an RN) was purchasing filler online and doing her own injecting. I also remember videos online of how to do your own injecting...that was quite a while ago and can't remember where I saw those....
I think if someone is trained in the med field already, I see nothing wrong with learning the art of injecting for home use...these fillers have such a ridiculously high mark up which varies around the globe, it's no wonder people are learning to do this themselves as they can purchase this stuff online for a fraction of the cost....
I, myself, am in the medical field and I still would never consider doing my own because I don't think I could poke myself ....so I am stuck paying full price.... |

I have been considering this for some time and educating myself. Still haven't decided if I can do it.
