I am overwhelmed with all the info on here (a good thing Smile - but i see on the DIY section, there is talk of dermarollers, lightstim, facial exercises to name but a few!! That is besides all the products to use. I just wondered if all you ladies out there using any of them, what has come out tops for you for your skin.

Obagi's Nu Derm. That is topical. Nothing else has come close to producing visible results for me other than that. I tried the Prolight LED, a 2 MHz ultrasound, and the dermaroller, and I personally didn't have results with those.

hey zizi! wave

for topicals i'm loving and see results with the valmonts cleansers, and their creams and anti aging creams. i got these at EDS.

for general skin health and toning i'm getting amazing results with the tanaka massage. its easy, fast, and free.

for lips i'm having huge results with lipfusion XL. (from EDS)

in the eyelash department, i actually see NEW growth in my eyebrows, and have full eyebrows with the revitalash eyelash serum. i used to have small bald spots at the tail end of my eyebrows and now they are full. i've only been using it a month. while having seen full results in the eyebrow area, i have not seen any growth in the eyelash area yet, but i'm confident i'll see some soon. btw, with no symptoms. (from EDS)

for hair i'm seeing results with revitalash hair and also using an electric pillow massager and paddles brush technique. (from EDS)

for skin, face and body cleaning and exfoliating, i love & use all 6 of my clarisonics. (some from EDS). keeps my body skin smooth, and lovely. as well it helps to penetrate the body creams/butters. love them and get fab results!

for gadgets, my top pick would be the dr ho's and the assortment of tens/ems units. they're fast, effective, multipurpose! these units i cannot live without!

with that being said, i'm really anxious and looking forward to adding the clarisonic opal for eyes to my routine.

yay! i think i covered everything!

for hard to get to eye area, i also use the facemaster. the facemaster is easy to get in this area by using the wands. however, you have to sit up during the whole treatment. whereas the nuface is handheld, and i use it while laying down. Very Happy

For visible long-term results, LED treatment has made a difference. For visible results after I use it, I love the galvanic device I have. It does such a great job of deep-cleaning my face - much better than the clarisonic did - without any irritation.

I'm now using Retin-A and I think it's making a difference too, at least in making my pores smaller. I'm hopeful it will eventually make a difference in wrinkles and lines.

I would have to say that Clarisonic made a huge difference because it helped my skin care products penetrate better and I found that I use less of it because my pores was cleaned out well. My skin tone has improved a lot and I didn't think it can get any better.

skippie,

what galvanic device do you use that cleans your skin w/o irritation. i have the clarisonic, but even with the delicate brush, which is the one i use, i can only use it once a week in the winter (maybe 2-3 times a week in the summer)or my skin becomes irritated.

by the way, what does galvanic mean?

i love my vaculifter (i have the large face one..but would like to invest in the small face one also)it is one of the few things i can use everyday w/o irritating my skin..although i only pass it over my cheek area, which is more sensitive than the rest of my face/neck, a few times. it exfoliates at the same time it aids in circulation

Hi, jasminerosey,

I bought the Prolight Galvanic/Ultrasound device: http://www.prolightaesthetics.com/catalog/item/6603459/6528796.htm

However, I don't use the ultrasound part of it at all. I also haven't used the galvanic part for product penetration, only for cleansing. I found this explanation of galvanic current:

Quote:
Galvanic treatments use two different currents – positive and negative. When used during a facial, the current is first set to a negative charge. The facial gels or lotions applied to the facial also need to have the same charge – negative. When the galvanic instrument is placed on the face, the two negative charges (from the instrument and the gel/lotion) repel each other driving the gel/lotion deep into the pores of the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin. This is similar to two magnets of the same charge repelling each other. The negatively charged gel/lotion then binds to the impurities such as dirt, oil and old make-up deep in the skin. Then an extra negatively charges gel/lotions are gently wiped off the skin.

wrinkle iron Secondly, the galvanic instrument is then set to the positive charge and a positively charged gel/lotion is applied to the skin. When the instrument is then applied to the face, the positively charges instrument attracts the negatively charged gel/lotion full of the impurities and draws them out of the pores and the skin.

At the same time, the new positively charged gel/lotion typically full of beneficial ingredients for the skin is push deep into the pores by the positively charged galvanic instrument. While all of this is happening, the positive and negative currents are also helps to stimulate cellular energy of the muscles and tissues and improving facial circulation.

Galvanic current therefore produces a facial that opens up the face’s pores and improve skin’s texture, removes dulling impurities, hydrates and replenishes the skin, can help to reduce fine line and wrinkles and tightening and toning of facial muscles (giving you a non-surgical facelift with several treatments and no surgery).

I buy my gels from Rankine Remedies in Canada. They do a wonderful job and last a long time. http://www.rankines.com/

jasminerosey, I've been considering the vaculift. Have you noticed other benefits besides exfoliation and improved circulation? Any improvement in firming under the chin or jowls? TIA

Thanks Skippie,
the galvanic procedure sounds very interesting to me..i would have to find positive and negatively charged lotions that had no chemical additives..but will do a search

how come you haven't used the ultrasound capacity of the device...i would be worried about the possibility of losing fat and volume from my face..but i'm wondering why you have chosen not to use it.

brierrose,
i'm not sure about whether or not it's helped with sag/jowls. i use it most vigorously on that area (and my neck)... and that area is more toned (at least there is not more sag since last year when i began using it)..but i'm not sure if the toning/prevention is due to the vaculifter or facial exercises)

jasminerosey,

The products from Rankine's Remedies are fragrance-free, SLS-free, paraben-free, DEA-free, and phthalate-free.

G- Pre-Treatment Ingredients: De-Ionised Spring Water, Acrylate C-10/30 Cross Polymer, Triethanolomines, Cyclomethicone, Camellia Sinensis (Japanese Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA.

G+ Treatment Ingredients: De-Ionised Spring Water, Acrylate C-10/30 Cross Polymer, Triethanolomines, Cyclomethicone, Camellia Sinensis (Japanese Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Vitamin E (Non-Acetate), Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Chamomilla Matricaria Flower Extract (Chamomile), Narcissus Tazetta Bulb Extract, Quaternized Wheat Protein, Ganoderma Lucidum (Mannentake Mushroom) Extract & Lentinus Edodes (Shiitake Mushroom) Extract, Baobab fruit extract, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA.

The reason I haven't used the ultrasound is because there was some discussion about whether it was 1 MHz or 2 MHz, and I just didn't feel comfortable using it without knowing for sure.

Skippie,

sorry for asking so many questions....but...i seriously want to purchase this galvanic product...however it's unsettling that you have said it's unclear whether it's 1MHz or 2MHz for the ultrasound capacity..when it states on the prolight site that the device is 1 MHz with the capacity to vary it..so i am assuming then that this information is not reliable.

if you had realized this before making the purchase, would you have researched a different galvanic/ultrasound device.

ALSO thanks so much for the info on the products you use with this device...they sound wonderful, but still have too many lab made ingredients for my sensitivies....i'm going to call Rita at prolight and see if i can create a diy formula with the appropriate negativ/positive charges.
