My luck ran out. I had clear skin for 2 months with using decleor but this past month my skin has gone crazy with zits!! They're absolutely everywhere!! I stopped using the yonka products I had started mid to late october and it just keeps getting worse!
Anyone have any suggestions of what I should try next!?
I'm super allergic to salicylic acids..please keep that in mind with your recommendations. |

lianne - I use MD Forte cleanser II which contains 12% Glycolic Acid. I also use Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (unfortunately, this one has Salicylic Acid) and clay mask on alternate days. My breakouts are under control with these cleansers. Oh, one last thing, I got zits whenever I use cream (toooo rich). |

Was it the Yonka products that made your skin break out? Sorry to hear it, I'm still hunting for skincare sorry I can't be of any help. |

DDF sulfur therapeutic mask is amazing - check out the akeupalley reviews. Im also an amazing fan of Sircuits X-Zit, so it might be worth giving that a go too.

MD Forte does make a very nice cleanser! Jan Marini's Bioglycolic is nearly identical, and only $25.
That's the most I would buy though...maybe perhaps a BP gel, like PTR's.
I'd be seeing a dermatologist, if I were you. |

Try a trial set from this web site http://www.sageskincare.com. they have a special trial acne set for sensitive skin. I have used and still using there acne products and I must say I“m totaly clear. And then ever I stop using there products for a time I get zits ... this is the only products that cleared my acne and I have used almost everything from priscription to OTC. |

Mabsy, it might possibly be from stress. I just finished all my term projects and now exams are coming so I haven't been exercising. I've been using the decleor hydra-matt since the begining of Sept...I really like it too.
Farouk, I've looked into the X-Zit from Sircuit, it contains salicylic acids.
Dalguy, I'm scared of dermatologists. The one I saw before experimented on me and caused my skin to become SUPER sensitive. I used to be able to use anything on my face..now everything gives me problems!
I just remembered I did start using the decleor mattifying toner in october, maybe it's from that. I'll stop using it for a while, see if there's an improvement.
I've looked at the DDF Sulphur Mask quite a few times, perhaps I will splurge on it as a reward for doing good in school

Oh my gosh! I hope it wasn't the Yonka. I adore that stuff. Stress can play a big role too. I would go with the previous recs of the sulphur masks and once your skin is calmed down. Slowly start reintroducing items to see maybe which one it was. It might also be a sign that your hormones are not right. Mine have been crazy and my endocronologist is working with me to help. He said it definately can cause acne and oily skin. Sorry to hear this has happened to you. Let me know how it goes. Best wishes!!! |

SKiser,
I'm on the pill so aren't my hormones fairly regulated? I dunno.
I'm going to give your suggestion of slowly re-introducing stuff again. I just hate what my skin is doing right now, I look like a before picture on the proactiv infomercials!!! |

Hi Liane,
I'm on the pill to and it does wonders for the skin, except for the odd blemish.
It sounds to me like this must be something you are using. I have read that it can take between 3-4 weeks for a zit to begin under the skin and appear. Oil or something has clogged all your pores and caused a major breakout.
I too have used Yonka in the past and loved it for my problem skin. Have yet to try Declor so I can't comment.
I would just stick to a cleanser you know you can trust and a spot treatment. Then try adding back in products.
Which Yonka items did you purchase? What make up are you using? Foundation is my #1 problem. |

miss shoes,
The yonka I tried was the creme 15 and the juvenil (which I lost recently)3
For my makeup I've been using Prescriptives foundation, but am waiting for some jane iredale samples to arrive.
I have a good cleanser that I know my skin does well with so I'll be using that. As for a spot treatment, I only have the creme 15 which may be the cause of my problems so I don't want to use it. Maybe I'll just use good old polysporin (seems to help me!?) |

That's what I would do. Then when your skin is clear I would reintroduce the Creme 15. Maybe use it as a spot treatment. If it makes the spot worse, then I would say it's the Creme 15. I would also stop the Decleor toner too. I'm so bummed that maybe the Yonka didn't work. Hopefully we will figure this out and have you back on the road to clear skin. |

It could be so many things...I stopped the decleor toner, stopped the creme 15..
I'm down to good old darphin cleanser and the hydra matt moisturizer from decleor...and concealer only, just incase it is the foundation.
I look like a mess. Good thing my man loves me already.. |

Really sorry to hear of your troubles. I KNOW how it feels. Perhaps you just loaded your skin with too many different products at once and it is freaked out.
Stick with what you know until you get some relief. How long have you used prescriptives foundation? I tell you, I have had big problems with foundations. They clogg your pores over time so it can take weeks for the break out. This is what happened to me with MAC. Then you get in the cycle of using foudnation to cover your spots, etc. Now I just use tinted moisturizer.
I have never heard of anyone breaking out with Yonka products. Espcailly when they are for problem skin. I would stop the Decleor, but just cause I haven't used it but have had great results with Yonka. Maybe start taking some Evening Primrose Oil capusles as well, these are great for skin health in general. I take it every day!!!
Take Care, you are still beautiful to us no matter what!!!! |

It's funny...I was whining to a girl in my class about my zit face and she says she didn't even notice...I guess I'm better at this makeup thing than i thought...haha. Still takes too much time out of my day. |

not sure if this would help... but I did have quite a few breakouts from using Yonka also (spot treat with Juvenil and cream 15 all over the face)... then I took a suggestion (from Skier?!) about applying the combination differently - mixing 1-2 drops of Juvenil with some Cream 15 in the palm first, then apply them all over the face... My skin find the mixture more tolerable and I've since been using them this way.... skin is much happier
I'm also using Prescriptive's Traceless foundation and Camouflage kit and have no problems with them...
hope this is helpful?!?! |

I lost my juvenil bottle a while ago...I liked it on it's own, but not mixed with the creme 15.
Maybe I'll buy another one sometime, just can't buy anything right now with my vet bills |

so my skin is now back to somewhat normal (slightly dry, but about the smae # of zits)
How do I test which products were bothering me? Do I use it on part of my face? or the whole thing?
I'm going to start with the decleor mattifying toner..... |

Since you are going to start with the toner first, I probably would just use it on my oiliest parts. See if they get worse or better. If worse then it's the toner, if better, then try using all over. Then if still better I would go to the next item that might have done this. Keep us posted!! |

Lianne-I was using Juvenil for a month and a bit, after which I experienced horrible breakouts.
I stopped using Juvenil and they slowly started to clear up.
I use Creme 15, and that didn't seem to be the source of my problems.
I still feel like you do though-very frustrated with breakouts that were just as bad when I was a teen!
Good luck,
Kel |

commonlight,
They finally stopped a couple years ago coming on my back, shoulders and chest like they used to. I'll get the occassional one on the back during my period.
Now they're concentrated on my face and in my hair. |
