I just purchased the new Flex Effect program and I am wondering if it is ok to do the exercises with makeup on. I work out of my house and like to do them when I have time during the day so am hoping that a "naked"face is not necessary. Any thoughts?

Hi Kay,
In terms of effectiveness I see no reason whether having make-up on or not would matter to the underlying muscle structure.
As far as hygiene it isn't the best way to go about it. There are some exercises that would be okay with makeup on but not all. Some of the cheek exercises on the outside of the face I have done with makeup on and some lip exercises. Neck and jaw exercise also. I don't wear base makeups though as a rule.

I would not do the eye exercises that way - obviously you don't want to irritate your eyeball with makeup falling in, etc.

Also the in-the-mouth exercises are best done clean - hands, face, etc. Claudia advocates doing these in the shower.

Yes, It's true, I'm an advocate for a more clean scene when handling your face, eyes, mouth etc.

I suppose it really has to do with how you respond to such handling.

So, if you're touching your made up face mid day and you start breaking out, you might consider that you're just spreading lots of bacteria and just really rubbing in your cosemetics (many of which are really no big deal... but some can be pore clogging)

Personally, I would do what fits into your schedule, and make alterations as necessary. So, log in your log when you're doing your work, and that you're not washing your face... it may be important info to you later....
