Hi
I've been looking around on this site for a while now, but never registered until today. I am interested in DIY skincare, but am completely lost as to where I should begin
I'm not sure if anyone cares to read about my skincare history, issues, or hopes, so I won't post that here. However, I do have a few questions that I *hope* someone here will be able and willing to answer for me.
1. I would like to be able to purchase ingredients, whenever possible, at local stores (I live in Canada) instead of online. I have found, upon browsing, a number of ingredients that are included in recipes, but not others. For example, is it possible to buy things like arbutin, azelaic acid, licorice root extract, or calendula (that isn't in another product already) in retail stores?
2. I've seen recipes here that include "licorice root extract", but I have only ever seen it in caplet form or powdered form. Can I use powder? How would I do so? Is it effective on post-acne redness?
Um... that is all for now. Thanks! |

april,
First of all, Welcome to EDS
I can't really help you with your question, but I just wanted to say that everyone here really does "care" about each others skin concerns. That's why we're here. The more you post about your skin condition/history, the more others can make suggestions as to what can help you. I'm sure someone will chime in soon with some good advice for you. For now, have you read the DIY section on the forum? Took a look:
