Because I tan very easily even without meaning to, I have never experienced this problem before (read: I now wear NCN's I'm Covered DAILY!). I have recently lost my summer tan but have discovered that my concealer is too "orangey-pink" on my face and I was already using the lightest shade.

Here is the problem--I don't fit any of the palest shades at the drugstore! Anything I try ends up looking pink or orange on my skin. I am assuming this is because I have yellow/olive skin but I don't know for sure. It seems they only make pale make up for cool tones.

I my wallet would like some drugstore recommendations (maybe there is a brand I haven't tried or overlooked?), but I am open to other suggestions. I am also wondering if perhaps Japanese makeup might be a better fit for my skin tone.

I was formerly using Max Factor's Pan Stik (what I'm wearing in the pic), which worked pretty well at covering up the red blotchy streaks that run from my jawline up towards my nose (when I forget to put it on and I wear blush my face looks like this > < on each side!). Also, I am of Japanese and Mexican descent if that helps anyone with figuring out decent shades.

Does anyone want to give me additional advice on what to do with my eyebrows? I would like a little more tailored arching, but I'm afraid to go overboard.

TIA!

Hi lemon,

I have the same pale olive skin tone, and there are three concealers that I love.

For really pale skin, try amazing cosmetics' concealer, which i wear in golden light. the texture is fabulous, it never settles in lines, and looks invisible.

my second choice is jane iredale's mineral undereye concealer called circle/delete. this is nice and moisturizing and has that perfect tone for olivey-skin.

the third, and perhaps my favorite, is alison raffaele's concealer wand. this is a little on the pink side than the others which are pretty olive-yellow toned, but it seems to meld perfectly with my skin, it's very light and invisible.

if you want to spend a lot of $$$, then By Terry's light expert is about the best money can buy (look at shade #5).

I recommend going to a bobbi brown counter and trying out their corrector. as a base for your concealer.

there are red pigments in the corrector to eliminate darker spots and then you put your concealer on top to brighten it. I use YSL touche eclat

Thanks everyone!

Avalange, I actually went out and bought the Amazing concealer in the shade you were talking about...I was THAT inspired! Unfortunately it was a tad too yellow for my skin (I can hardly believe it!) in daylight and I ended up returning it. Thank you though!

After doing some research on MUA I went to the MAC counter and bought Select Cover Up after talking to the SA, who pegged me as a NW30 (seriously??? I thought I was much lighter than that!). I'm going to try it tomorrow and see if that's any better.
