It is an incredibly expensive bar of soap, but some women on the skincarerx forum are saying that it has significantly lightened their melasma like no other product has. It sounds quite hoaxy initially, but it has a lot of good reviews.

I have heard of it. I couldn't find anything on the ingredients of this bar except what is promoted by the company themselves.
Here is all I could ever find out about this bar:
What is MOOR, you ask?
Made from Heilmoor of Austria, this special mud or clay is created over 3000 years ago. It has the essence of over 700 herbs and plants. The actual wonderbar sells for $40 for a tiny mini-hershey size bar that is supposed to last 6-8 weeks, and $105 for the 80 gm bar, which they say lasts 3-4 months. |

Could be. I really doubt a soap could get rid
of melasma in such a short period of time. I“ve tried everything and only Obagi has worked for me in a real effective way. |

I am thinking exactly the same about the effectiveness of a soap for melasma. I haven't tried it but then again at those prices I won't. |

| I've been using the Wonderbar for the past 5 weeks and am truly amazed that it has lightened my melasma by at least 50% since then! It's really not a soap, even though it looks like one and lathers like one. It heals the skin from the inside since it's ingredients are able to penetrate the skin. It heals whatever ails your skin, acne, psoriasis, eczema or .... Google it and find the website where you can read more about it. And, no, I don't own the company and am not related to anyone who does. I'm just sold on the product because it's working for me. |

I am one of the owners of WonderbarUSA. I receive google alerts when wonderbar is mentioned so that I can be aware of any new reviews. I would normally not enter in to these discussions, but this time I thought I should. The bar is made in Malaysia and is not soap. If you think of it that way, you are misunderstanding the product. You can do your own research and decide for yourself, that's not why I'm posting here....I just want to assure you that we would NEVER pay for a review or plant a review. That would be unethical and frankly, we don't need to do that. Bloggers and editors request the product, people buy the product and from there, they can say or write whatever they want. It is out of our control. That being said, all the reviews are good because the product really works. Of course we hope you'll try it, but please know regardless, that the reviews are all authentic. |

You will find many here look at the ingredients to see what justifies that price and why something works. |

| the bar basically does three things: balance, detoxify and heal. The bar is made of microalgae (chlorey nahre) that literally "heals" skin from inside out, the heilmoor clay from austria detoxifies. the binder in the bar has a ph level of 5.65, which is where our skin needs to be, to be balanced. so, the three things in combination address many skin issues- we weren't even aware of all the benefits when we started distributing a little over a year ago. It's one thing for the manufacturer to make all of these claims, but it's quite another when you start hearing real testimonials from clients about melasma, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea,acne,etc. We are very excited that the bar is helping people. We have had many people complain about the cost before trying it, but never ONE complaint about the cost after trying it. |

It is very nice of you to come on this forum to post. It is very much appreciated!
A previous poster asked about ingredients, but you only mentioned two of them. This is a savvy forum (at least we like to think so ), so many of us will not buy products unless we know everything that is in them, including for allergy reasons. Could you please post a *complete* list of ingredients? Also, is your product suitable for vegetarians and/or vegans?

The ingredients are as follows:
Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Coco-Sulfate, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Starch, 1-Octadecanol, Paraffin, C17789, Talcum, Heilmoor Clay, Water, Glycerin, Chlorey'nahre (CLO), Polyglucuronic Acid, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil, Chamonilla Matricaria (Chamomile) Extract
Yes it is vegan and no cruelty!!

| I can't say because I've never had anyone that has gotten through the healing phase tell me that they "quit" using it.....I can tell you that people have gotten dry and broken out and quit using it (around the two to three week mark) because they did not understand what was happening, which I can understand.(consistency and patience are KEY)I have also had people quit using it because they didn't see anything happening, and then when they stopped, they noticed that the bar was in fact helping with enlarged pores and redness that came back when they stopped. SO, I guess there is a possibility that your skin could return to the state that it was in (unbalanced and with toxins) and your issues you had before could become a problem again. |

Other than your proprietary algae and special clay these are very common ingredients. We can make a mask or treatment with varieties of both without spending an arm and a leg. Where is the science behind these claims? Is it all testimonials?

Not true. The Chlorey Nahre is a patented ingredient that you cannot find in any other product in the world. The Heilmoor clay is very common, but when used in conjunction with the Chlorey Nahre, it's benefits are enhanced. It took many years and a lot of research to create this product. The "common" ingredients you mentioned are added to the bar in the form of a paste, which allows for the pH level to be in the normal range. This process is also under world patent.

I'm not on here to try and "sell" you the product, I simply wanted to clear up the idea that we somehow planted or paid for the reviews. It doesn't look much different to me than the Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleansing Bar ($3.00 at SkinSore.com) and maybe the Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask from The Body Shop (4.2 oz for $22.00).

Different oils and algae extracts, and maybe not quite as natural .... but a much cheaper alternative. Both products are recommended for oily or combination skin.
BTW, you can't patent nature. I couldn't find the patent for this product, but I did see references to "patenting pending" on various seller sites. Syndet bars are pH balanced (but not natural). |

A quick search indicated that there are at least three miracle bars - Mior, Eumora, and Amoorea -- in the clay+algae family. I didn't dig any farther so can't even guess at the provenance of the amazing ingredients or determine whether the companies are related. The claims seem to be pretty similar.

Update: These products seem to be coming out of Malaysia, sold primarily via MLM. The companies appear to be in competition -- the kind of competition that includes a lot of cross-claims and threats of legal action. |

| I see there are a lot of skeptics here. That's okay. Nothing wrong with being a smart consumer and wanting to check things out. But, I'm very happy that I ordered my first Wonderbar because even before that little bar was all used up, my skin had improved so much that I knew I was onto something good. There are a lot of good reviews of the product and I think they are all from honest, sincere people who are happy they bought the Wonderbar. I know I never want to be without a Wonderbar by my sink. I've used it twice a day since Feb. 18, 2010 and my skin hasn't looked this good in many years. |
