My wedding is coming up this summer and I am on a budget for it. I am getting an updo for my hair which will be curled in a romantic/flowy way to the side. I wanted to pin a white flower to my hair but I'm not sure if I should get a real flower or not. People have advised me that I should get a silk pinned flower instead of the real thing because during the course of the day it won't wilt or lose it's petals. I've taken a look at some of the silk flower clips and they are outrageous in price. At about $90CND for one flower clip. I'm wanting to go a more cheaper route. Any advice? Also what type of flower is most common to wear? I'm clueless when it comes to flowers.

I would consider checking prices of silk flowers at craft, decorating shops and the like, then using a hot glue gun to attach the flower to a clip or comb of your choice. I have a feeling you would come out very much less expensive this way. Smile
The flower will need to be what strikes you as what you love and looks fabulous in your hair! Smile

Best Wishes To The Bride! Smile

Congratulations BCGirl! You are going to be a beautiful bride.

My sister recently got married--- she hadn't even planned to put any flowers in her hair (she had a very low-key wedding and just did her hair herself even...), but when we picked up her bouquet and corsages from the florist I noticed they had some small white orchids leftover from the corsages, so I asked if I could have them and my other sister and I pinned one into the bride's hair and it really made a huge difference!

Depending on what vibe you're going for, orchids can be beautiful. They *are* a bit fragile though, so going to silk route may be a safer bet. If you are on a budget, I would absolutely recommend checking out Etsy. They have some beautiful wedding flower hair clips. Here are a couple examples:

I agree with Manslayerliz AND DarkMoon. If you're doing silk flowers for sure, definitely go to a craft store, get your flowers there and make your pin yourself.

My friend bought flowers at the dollar store and pinned them to her hair at school. Looked beautiful. I don't know if those are silk though!! But worth checking out.
